CVA 12ga Double Barrel
Luckily the finish looks like stained shellac which should come off easy.
Im done working on it today, my shoulders and neck are stiffer than... well, lets just leave it at that. Polishing out a barrel is hard work.

Started with the center,

320 grit then buffed with 00 steel wool. This is not finished, I still have to go through and do some detail polishing around the front sight, nipples, etc.

Im not huge on the polished steel idea after doing this. If anything, I will either leave the hammers in polished steel or the lock plates.
Once the barrel is polished out, I'll move onto the stock and strip it down and get to sanding.

Nice project gun, take a very close look on the bottom of the barrels for proof markings.
Many of these shotguns were made in Italy and are very nice.
If it was made in Italy there will be a date code showing when it was made.
How much does it weigh?

I'd love to find one of those. Thanks for sharing.

Oh maybe 7lbs if that. Its a well built shotgun. I did quite a bit more work today including inletting the front section of the trigger a bit more than the previous guy did. Tomorrow I will finish up the barrel, then strip the stock finish. I did a test spot and thank god, its just stained shellac. Comes off super easy.
