Wax paper tube as wad?
I have not had a lot of luck using .410 wads in a 45 cap shotshell.
Hard to start even using wad fingers, takes up valuable payload space, and the patterns are very inconsistent with or without them
How about a cardstock over powder wad, then insert a tube made of wax paper wrapped around a dowel, and folding over on the bottom then filled with shot, twisted on top and flattened under a over shot card before final crimping?

Instead of waxed paper, save potato chip mylar bags. Cut a rectangle long enough to go around about 1 1/3rd times.
It will do a better job of containing the shot, and protecting your barrel.
If it is shiny silver inside it is mylar. If it is like a Dorito's bag I'd reverse it. shiny side out, printed side in with the shot.
I even use the whisper thin pop tarts mylar for fly tieing. Cut it in strips, and wrapped you can make a body shine like a minnow.
Handy stuff, don't throw it away!
