44-40 question
I have a Pedersoli Rolling Block "baby carbine" in 44-40 on the way. My question is regarding relative strength and where this rifle would fall in this "firearm grouping" I've seen in a couple reloading manuals. I've zero experience with a 44-40 so any input as to any nuances to look for would be appreciated.

It will easily be able to handle any published load from real loading manuals.

get a reloading manual read it and load by what it says for .44-40 and you will have no problems. remember it is a .44-40 hot a .44 mag.

The RL7 loads will perform well for you.

Since the Uberti is based on the #2 Rolling Block action, it is strong enough for factory .44-40 loads. It's modern steel, and the original #2 was offered in some pretty warm cartridges like .32-20WCF and .38-40. So I wouldn't worry about your modern .44-40 chambered Uberti.
