SAECO Mould ID Querey
I picked up a SAECO 3-cavity mould, wad-cutter .38 (???) with "219DDB" on sprue-plate. My Internet searches for this mould, as well as what the "DDB" might stand for have me at a loss. I'm really hoping one (or more :) ) of the very knowledgeable folks on this site might provide me answers?
Thank you much, in advance!Attachment 212023

Without looking at the inside of the mold I'd say it's a:
double grease groove
double end
double bevel base

I never thought re your apt "decoding" of those mysterious letters! With much appreciation, I think I'll go with "Double Bevel Base" :) :) :)

the Saeco# 397 is a 148gr WCDBB ( double bevel base WC base with 2 grease groves)
The Saeco #348 is a 148gr DBBWC ( double bevel base wadcutter with 1 grease grove
Both can be seated and crimped in either direction

Mine is neither of the numbers you cite. A picture indicates, though, that both the top and bottom have bevel bases?Attachment 212148

Looks like:
a double end wc
double/both sides are bevel based.
double crimp grooves

Saeco Mold
That is Saeco #397 148gr WCDBB(wad cutter double bevel base)2 lube grooves 2 crimp grooves.
You can see in the pic in post 1 someone has stamped over the original #

What I suspect is that the Sprue Cutter is not original. It is a replacement. It was Taken from a SAECO 302, and then stamped by the owner with his own markings, which no doubt made sense to him, but have little or no relevance to the SAECO numbering system.

I know, zombie thread revival... But I'm curious as to what this one weighed and how it shot for you.
Thanks.
