Bartletts has WC 872 for $100 8 lb jug. You have shipping and hazmat but there are plenty of loads on Castpics.
I use a cast 190 with 'The Load' of Red Dot in my Rem700 .30-06 with good results.
I'd encourage doing a search and read up on it.
Thanks, I’ve seen that, but when you figure 50-60 grains per shot vs 20-25 of a faster powder, the economy disappears quickly. Also don’t want to mess with duplex loads and I don’t have any magnum primers on hand.Quote:

For something like this, Quickload can be useful, but I do not trust it to be "accurate" especially with small charges in long barrels. Also some of the powders in the table may be completely unsuitable for this kind of "non-standard" service.
Looking at the data, SW BO is a good bit slower than 2400. This is ok if you have a reason to reduce chamber pressure, but note that muzzle pressure and required charge go up a good bit. I would tend to go the other direction. I included a handful of powders that look interesting to me. Of the SW powders, Heavy Pistol is probably closer to 2400.

I’ve used it to great success with the Lee 170 in 30-30. Don’t remember the charge off hand but the accuracy was there.
