I have a very big fan of the 38 Special round and Smith and WEsson and Colt revolvers. Threads like this draw me like a kitten to a bowl of cream. Excellent information has been given by people with the knowledge and experience to speak with true...

Char-Gar replied to a thread beeswax in Helping Hands
Some years back a member here bought a very large quantity of WWII surplus wax at auction, thinking it was beeswax. He sold quite allot of it to members here and it indeed made very good bullet lube. However tests by the science guys revealed it...

Seating dies are not hardened like sizing dies, so are much easier to shorten. Just take it to a bench grinder or a belt grinder and have at it. It does have to be pretty or even square on the bottom.

As a kid I witnessed a grain elevator explosion. For the non-rural types grain elevators are large storage silo's. Grains of wheat are barely flammable. Wheat dust on the other hand is highly flammable/explosive. While I am not interested enough...

MN allows face to face for residents on handguns. No FFL required unless you purchase them for resale. Than you are in business and need an FFL.

There is your answer. All this talk about headspace in interesting, but is not you problem. Your loads were to light to drive the case back against the bolt head and reset the primers. Even with rifles with proper headspace, the primers will back...

M-Tecs replied to a thread 17 Mach 2 in Rimfire Area
Most of the issues are with the semi-auto's. I have Sako Quads, CZ 452 and Contenders in 17M2 and the Magnum Research in a Semi-Auto. Neck and shoulder cracks are more common than with the 17HMR but in either they are not a problem or a safety...

Your friend is giving you bad advice. Rimfire's erode from the glass beads in the priming compound. With a borescope you can see it at about 20,000 rounds. On target rifles 50,000 rounds without loss is not unusual. I know of one range rental...
