I think you just answered your own question. Unique is the only powder that has bound up in every powder measure I have except the Belding and Mull. I only use the B&M when I'm using Unique.

Every pistol or rifle is unique unto itself. When you get to this level of accuracy that variable is as important as any other. What does your gun want?

If using a progressive reloader, that would be my prime suspect.

Get rid of the Bore Butter patches. Horrible stuff. Try some different lube. It's not unusual for a barrel to take several hundred shots to break in. I did have one by Judge Resley years ago that just would not stop cutting patches, even after...

When I bought my flintlock I sprung for a wooden box and am glad I did. When it came there was a punch about 1/2" deep in the side piece - if that had hit the flat it would have gone through the 1/8" ply they used. It was right where it would have...

I always deprime before polishing, but this is because the primer dust has lead in it. I prefer not to breathe that when I dump out my polisher. I do dry polish, if you wet polish I guess it doesn't matter - you are not about to drink that water!

I can't address how government contractors get by with this. Within actual government agencies you have to have a equal or higher security clearance and most importantly an need to know. Of course inside threats will always find a way to...

I've shipped over 150 muzzleloaders. All went double boxed, with bubble wrap and paper around the gun, bubble wrap around the inner box. Never had a problem. Depending on how far you ship in CONUS, cost used to run around $65-75 insured before I...

Last time I was swabbed at the airport was within a week of loading some rifle rounds and it did not tag me. I guess washing your hands well works.

As usual Larry is spot on with his advice. Both loads of the OP's smokeless loads are recommended trap door loads. In many loadings Smokeless Powder has a softer pressure curve than BD. I used to load for a reenactment group mostly with smokeless...

The Hornady Headspace Comparator does exactly what it is claimed to do and it does it very well. Hornady calls it a COMPARATOR for a reason. It was not designed as a direct measurement tool unless used in conjunction with a actual standard like a...

The difference in peoples experiences on this type of stuff always surprised me. Between my 650's and my 1050 I have loaded 80K to 100K of bottleneck cases. Mostly .223 and 308. I do have a vacuum and compressed air at each machine. Never stuck...

How are you going to damage the rifling with something that melts at boiling water temps and is vastly softer than brass? Only if you try to remove it with a steel rod, and I assume you know better than that!

Belling or expanding the case mouth is important for soft cast boolits. Case inside chamfering is important for condom bullets so they don't catch on the edge of the case. This can crumple the case if the neck/shoulder is soft.

"May those who come behind us find us faithful" - I remember singing the song and being impressed with it but don't remember the rest. But the sentiment is clear, to be found faithful to the end is a challenge for all of us. May my grandchildren...

I have long been amazed by the fact that the book of James tells us that if we submit to God and resist Satan he will flee from us. That is Biblical truth. But it also repeatedly tells us to flee temptation. If Satan himself will flee from me -...

A different miracle than I ever expected - but LOML called me this AM and told me that Allstate has paid us $5K for the 08 Honda Fit that I killed! We went $2K over the budget for the 1017 Fit that replaced the '08 - and it only has 35,500 miles on...
