I am currently using a 300 grain cast SWC bullet in my Marlin 1894 carbine for deer hunting. I don't have feeding issues, though. Never had to rework the carrier. I use 2400 powder, exclusively. I find that bullets in the 250-265 range will shoot...

Simple solution, get a dimmer/ceiling fan switch and use it to control the outlet, you plug your heater into. Winelover

I cast and load only two different bullets for my BH. The RCBS 250 SWC PB or MP's clone, with HP options, of the 270 SAA. Mostly, only shoot/hunt Ruger Only Loads with 2400 powder. Load Unique for mid range loads. Winelover

Cartridges are basically a wash, in terms of comparison. For me the choice was logistical. I don't own anything chambered in 45 ACP. However, I do have firearms chambered in 44 Magnum/44 Special. Therefore, I already had the dies, moulds and...

Sure your looking for a .443 sizer? You may want to edit that from .443 to .433 diameter. That size is strictly custom. Buffalo Arms sells them but currently out of stock. ...

The process I use for emptying my RCBS Chargemaster. 1. Open side discharge to drain majority of powder. (I use a Dixie cup bowl, underneath) 2. Keep dispensing powder until it doesn't appear to dispense anymore. 3. Lightly tap the...

I've been using the Accra-Shot nipples, exclusively, on both of my percussion rifles. Both are early versions and have flats for a wrench. Primers do tend to be prone to sticky extraction. I usually flick them out with my fingernail. At worst,...

Not enough info...........need specifics on ammo. Factory or reloads? Cast or Jacketed? Same ammo for plunk test in all three barrels? Without specifics my guess is a short throat. BTW, I have a Sig 320 RX Compact as well as five other...

I use them for 38/357 and 44 Spl/44 Mag. Never found any difference, accuracy wise, for revolvers. For my carbines, I have dedicated RCBS Cowboy dies, set up for the magnum versions. However, I do use them, when I neck size...........adjusting...

You don't...............old wives tale, perpetrated by the internet. Others will say it, differently. My experience after 40 years of shooting cast. If you think about it, gas checks are gliding metal, just like J-words. Winelover

I alway opt for the GM floor mats, when I order a new full size Chevy van. More than adequate for my use. Last time I checked, aftermarket makers didn't offer any for these red headed stepchildren, anyways. My wife drives a 2016 Chevy Colorado...

Tried .359 bullets, also, same result. Any larger and they won't chamber, due to case bulging. Gas check designs are my only option, unless I want to clean barrel, more frequently.

I'll second the Mika pocket holsters. I use the square cut ones. The round cut ones tend to roll in the pockets of my prefered pants. In fact, I had Mika add an extra inch to one of my two square cuts. Winelover

The biggest cause is when one doesn't grip the handles tight enough. After hundreds of casts, your hands fatigue. I know mine do and that when I notice the buildup starting. Winelover

Iron moulds are easy..............just use OOOO steel wool. I keep it handy at my casting bench. Works hot or cold. Brass or aluminum moulds is a different story. I rub it off with either a bamboo skewer or a piece of lead alloy. Winelover
