I'm starting to slowly clean up stuff that has been hanging around I've lost interest in or no longer need. I have approximately 750 380 ACP hollow point bullets I cast myself out of Lyman #2. These weigh about 91 grains, have a hollow point and I...

But yet it's not. Just simple cast iron, very easy to machine, in fact the carbon in the cast iron acts as a lubricant as anyone who has ever drilled cast iron will tell you.

NOE is having a sale right now. Just cast some 500/400 grain swc using the cup nose insert. they shoot well with trail boss and AL 8. tried some at about four hundred yards, I think they'll stay accurate at least that far. Vey nice mold and a very...

Driving up the mountain one beautiful day a little mule deer buck came blasting of the hill above us. Right behind him was a golden eagle trying his best to break his back. The mule deer made to a patch of trees, the golden circled a few times and...

Mustang, Very familiar with the RBT die set, I have many of them. Fun fact you might not know and Corbin isn't anxious for others to figure out. The RBT2 die is the same as an ordinary core seat die, except that it has a RBT internal punch. ...

The correct answer is, he pulled and melted 45/70 bullets. The West was full of that ammunition and nobody wanted military surplus 45/70. You must realize those days were tough. Elmer Keith persevered through very lean times as a young man trying...

Mustang, Why not just draw the jackets down enough so they will fit in the core seat die. Then, use a punch that gets to the base of the "jacket" and seat it so the base is flat. The jacket can't grow because it's in the die it will ultimately...

So why did Mr. Keith use 16:1 alloy? Question of the day.

Mustang, I saw that sale too and was tempted to buy one myself. A few thoughts. Call and ask to talk to John Watson. He is their production manager and can tell you anything that might help to make your project work as it should Second,...

While the 500 Auto Max is still not here, I got another set of dies to make bullets in .510 for my 50-70 Sharps. These use the same heavy walled jackets. Shown is a 550 grain bullet ready to go. It has a DEEP 1/2" hollow point that is 1/4" wide...

Dino, Normally you would be right, but in the pictures shown, I am trimming super heavy duty jackets that are 0.065" thick. I also don't rely on the position of the ram to determine when to stop. The way Corbin advocates, and what I do is to...

Bill.. The blunt shaped punch actually works better than the long taper punch.. Puts less pressure on the jacket as it is cut. The long punch may split the jacket easier, but all the pressure comes as the jacket is nipped off. The long punch...

Z.. If your using 900 psi.. The body of your pinch trim die needs to be sharpened.. I have quit using the hydro for pinch trim operations.. I now do it by hand. The problem with the hydro is.. Even when you set the ram at its max extension. Pinch...

It’s important to let people know you are talking about Richard Corbin, not David. I just bought a die set from David and was astounded he made it from scratch in less than a week!

That is a magnum pinch trim die made by Corbin using his Hydro CHP-1 press. Takes about 900 psi to trim those thick walled jackets.
