Here are a couple pics of my set up. The case I'm trimming is a converted 223 round which is getting trimmed to 300 BO length. I have it set so once I run it through the size die again to expand the mouth it ends up at 1.360". It only varies...

GF, pm replied to with most questions answered. A little more info: The prices on the lead page are up-to-date. I'm like you, I don't like surprises, and it wouldn't be fair to expect guys to read all the pages on this thread just for that info. ...

Bob, I think it is faster. The drawbar on my collet lathe set up has a wheel on it. I can tighten and untighten it very quickly on the lathe with no tools. It does not have to be bone crushing tight. There is very little resistance when...

country gent, that is pretty tricky, a great solution if you don't have a collet and closer system for your lathe. There are no end of uses for a small lathe. I have a 9 x 19 I bought a long time ago and I use it almost daily for something.

I would think that the most reliable and accurate method is to rough trim and then clean up using a collet with stop in a lathe. You can get very repeatable trim lengths with this method. I do some of this type of work and I use a scroll chuck on...

I have a container of 38 wadcutters bulk packed and lubed with a pretty soft homemade lube. They have been in the trunk of my black car for a few years. Every time I grab a fist full every one so far as went bang. I'm not saying this what you...

Here is how I tackled this problem. I shoot an FX impact in .30 caliber. Due to the magazine design, the weight of pellet you can shoot in it is limited. Being one of the aforementioned tinkerers, and having the tooling in .30 caliber already to...

I tend to agree with the above about a 200+ grain cast hard. I haven't loaded up any of those in quite a while but if memory serves correctly it was with a stiff dose of 800x. The next time I experiment with heavy 10 mm stuff I'll probably start...

I've hit in the high 1800s with the lee 300 and had no fouling. They were powder coated and having 20" of barrel in a rossi lever gun helped quite a bit with that. Recoil got your attention even in a little carbine. There's something to love...

When you reply in a thread like this one you have to remember the original question. Sure there's ones I find more interesting, they have more history, more unique, ect. The question was "most useful". For me that covers a pretty vast spectrum of...

You're probably aware but not all .45 cal bullets are created equally. The ones made to take the 454 are quite pricey. It's really not hard shooting cast in these things if you stay aware of some of the things that happen when the heat is turned...

When I first read the question it seemed like being asked which is your most loved child. As Lloyd I've own or have owned .22s to the 500 S&W and many in between. Each seem to have their nitch with a lot of overlapping. Recoil is subjective and...

Yes, I do. In the higher intensity revolvers when I powder coat using a full profile crimp die helps a lot. Crimp does usually do a good job of holding the bullet but the bearing surface also helps. When that bearing surface is slick and also...

Lee 310 gr and 296/h110 works great in the 454, forgot what I loaded last in the 460 but either does well. Here's some testing I did some years back. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j9yDfYMzUrc Ebner
