It's been too hot here in the Hotlanta area for any way that I like to hunt. It looks like it will start cooling off next week, but it's also supposed to rain every day. I'm retired, so I'm going to look at the public hunting areas within 75 miles...

Has anyone tried those lime green BBs on sale at Walmart? They look (?) like they would help generate static electricity. GF

My wife and I actively participated cowboy action shooting (SASS life member) for about 10 years. We both shot well broken in Rossi .45 Colts, she a carbine and I a 24" octagon barreled rifle. We always said that if the Democrats ever found out...

Here in GA the private detectives and security officers used to have to qualify out to 25 yards in order to qualify/requalify with their handgun with a 70% pass score on the B21 target. This caused problems for the companies so they brow beat the...

If it came from the one shoot I recall I think it was a variation of the H&K USP. They also had some of the pre-issue .45 USPs with cans and about a pallet of ammo and let us try to burn up a bunch of it. There were also H&K MP5s with the integral...

I'd like to shoot that course with a pair of 1860 Armys worked over by our own .45 Dragoon, but then he does do '58s, too. Of course, it was only 20 years ago when I showed up at an NRA pistol and shotgun instructor course and was the only one...

I was digging through an old stash of stuff and came across 2 boxes of 9mm 115 grain JHP factory +P+, one Federal, one from an LEA Winchester restricted issue. I had been doing some LEA-related instructing over 10 years ago and was often told to...

That plinking load more than equals the old .44 Henry Flat round from a 66 Winchester and it killed lots of deer in its day. GF

I use high temperature synthetic red wheel bearing grease on the cylinder pins of my '58s and the arbors of Colts repros. It doesn't turn to liquid and run all over the gun and stays right where I need it to be for a long range session. Unless the...

Ballistol is your friend. Once it's clean wipe a thin film on all internal and external surfaces and put the gun away. I make it a policy to check any gun fired with BP 48 hours after cleaning to make sure I didn't miss any spots. Gf

Be happy they just took your gas. Thieves siphoned most of a tank of diesel in my nearly new Ford 7.3 Powerstroke diesel, then poured water back into the tank. Didn't know until I cranked it up--or tried to--as the gauge showed I had fuel. $2,500...

I don't want to hijack this thread, but since Hornady has discontinued the .405 brass, do any of you know of anywhere to get the brass? I can get a new in the box Winchester-Miroku .405, but what is the sense in that without access to brass. GF

In my short Marlin guide gun I shoot a Ranch Dog 300 grain, TL GC FP atop a moderate load of 2400 and a dacron puff. Nice light load and for me the dacron puff cuts the group size YMMV. I also shoot the 457122 Gould HP, but I have to Beagle the...

Has anyone tried the Lee 358 200 RF designed for the .35 Rem? It looks like it would come close to duplicating that OK Highway Patrol load, but with the more effective RNFP profile? If so, what load did you use? What load do you think would...
