CastingFool replied to a thread floor sanding in Our Town
I refinished the hardwood floor in our family room a few years ago. Sanded it down to bare wood, stained it, and applied 3 coats of varathane floor finish. Used an applicator pad, stuff goes on milky, clear when it dries. Wait 24 hrs before...

CastingFool replied to a thread Electronic Earmuff in Our Town

CastingFool replied to a thread Dead rabbit in Our Town
I haven't found any dead rabbits, but on two separate ocassions, I have found almost dead racoons in my yard. No signs of trauma, blood, nothing. Barely moving. Simply smashed them hard on the head with a shovel, and threw them in the weeds, out...

CastingFool replied to a thread I love the country in Our Town
I, too, live out in the country, and absolutely love it. Just this morning, I could see one rabbit, a couple chipmunks, and a hen turkey with her 11 chicks. She has been coming in for the last 4 days, and so far she has not lost a single one.

Way back when I used to shoot skeet, 700x or Red Dot were the most common powders used for 12 ga skeet loads.

Have not had a knee replaced, but from what I have heard from others that have, your physical therapist is your friend. Listen to him/her.

I also have that same micrometer, except mine has a ratchet on the barrel, to keep heavy handed "machinists" from using mikes as clamps. My dad bought it used, and used for a number of years as a machinist. In 1974, it became mine, when I started...

Among other things I did yesterday, the most interesting was getting dive bombed by a robin, as I checked on the babies in the nest. Mama robin made a nest right between the intake and exhaust pipes for our furnace. It is about 4-1/2' off the...
