This morning I had time on my hands while keeping an eye on the smoker doing 2 pork butts for later today and as my reloading room (garage) is near the smoker I did some things there. First I resized & de-primed about 500 30-30 and put them in the...

An alternate to the cowboy dies, which I have never used, is the Hornady standard 30-30 dies. I had the same problem with my Lee dies and used a borrowed set of Hornady dies and they worked great. I have since then bought my own set of Hornady dies....

Not forming 45-75 but I use 300WM once fired brass and fire form these to 458WM without using intermediate expanders. I do anneal before and after or necks will split.

Great stuff! I witnessed the effect of a round going off while range scrap was being processed, the splash on the driveway was impressive/scary. Nobody was hurt but it was a near thing.

A few years ago using the Lee ingot molds got old quick so I made some molds from 3" stainless channel stock. These make 5# ingots and fit the width of 50cal ammo cans. On the cans I used stencils and paint to mark them as to what alloy it contains....

I would recommend a lid for the pot. Not only will it retain heat it will also prevent the tinsel fairies big momma from visiting if a live round finds its way into the scrap.

I have the same 457-450 mold and I opened it up to drop at .459" by lapping with 600 grit Comet. I use the CB's from this mold in my 458WM and of all of my molds this one produces the best shooting CB's. The mold easily overheats as 900gn of...

IMO a hot plate is a must have for all casters. The solid hot plate I have is used for heating molds, making and melting lube, boiling water when rust bluing and even as a heat source for the sweat box when rust bluing.

Going to be dusting off my M96 this weekend as indicated in the thread on the scope mount. I was not looking for a mold for the Swede but here I am. I searched for the 266473 but I guess it is a discontinued mold. There is a 266673 that appears to...

Wanted to load some more 30-30 but noticed I was running low on CB's. Cast about 600 311041's according to my calculation as I needed to add 15# of alloy to top up the pot when done. I then cast about 260 265gn CB's for my 444, another 10# of alloy...

Dutch, I ordered a Ncstar 2-7x32 and an Aimpoint 2-7x32. Both cost less than $100 shipped. I have a M48 as well so it will probably get the scout treatment as well. I'm late to the milsurp game but it is another facet of the hobby that interests...

As you noted the 312-155 works well in the 300BO. I don't think the 312-160 was available when I stared working with th 300BO but the 312-155 cast from a 6-cavity is what I use to feed my 300BO rifles. GC'd and lubed at .309" using a Star. Over RL-7...

I found my options limited when scope buying as I found that the BDC scopes that worked on the range but were terrible when hunting. Range is typically maximum of 250 yards so Leopold with duplex works best for me.
