I use wood shavings and sawdust when rendering WW's to ingots but bees wax or Ben's Red for my casting pots as I found this kept things cleaner for me. A few years ago I somehow ended up with about 5# of Ben's Red, good lube BTW, so this is what...

What I did also. For many rifle loads I use the double disk kit. For tweaking volume I have resorted to 2 methods, a set screw in the cavity wall or rat tail file to enlarge the cavity. Duplicating loads is easy as I document the cavities used. ...

I like and use many Lee products but their rifle seaters are not great for cast. Most of my mix-n-match die sets now include a Hornady seater die. With some I needed to modify the sleeve to accommodate the larger diameters that cast require but it...

Yep, I'm part of the 99% also. My B&D toaster was $19.99 from Wallyworld. Yes, it is small but works for me as I mainly do rifle CB's in it. Typical loads are 80 x 500gn CB's for my 458WM or 120 x 265gn for my 444 Marlin. I do stand these up on...

Many good comments here. Something I did not see mentioned is the water quality as this does affect the cleaning. Here the local water is quite hard so I found that I needed to add more Lemishine to get the desired result. The other thing I...

One of the often unmentioned advantages of the Star is not needing different top punches to match the CB profiles. Back when I was researching what to buy this factored a lot as I was already quite deep into casting and reloading. The pennies...

I appreciate the input . Didn't think about the cross pin through the wood . The molds are intact with the bottom retaining screws . Just missing the hollow point pins . Will have to see what I can measure and drill and how accurately . Again thanks

I use the Lee 450gn PB and the Lee 500gn GC with my M77. I found that the 450gn over 34gn of SR4759 gives me good accuracy out to 200 yards without discomfort from extended range sessions. CB's are PC'd and sized to .459". I have not tried any other...

I know this has been discussed somewhere surprised I couldn't find a sticky on the subject. I've bought several lyman and a couple Cramer hollow point molds .that have no pin . I can't afford 40 bucks for each one to send off to Eric at hollow...

Do not have ANY experience with bear but have plenty with deer . The devistator from 900-1100 with that soft bullet will go through through a deer end to end at least to 90 yards. The hard flat nose that fast just zips through no expansion . Just...

I use the RCBS 3-way in my Hornady trimmer and it is the bees knees. The Lee 3-way and the Lyman 3-way did not work as well for me. Yes, just switch out the pilot for different calibers and yes, no need to debur.

You will find that proper fill-out becomes critical if you intend to shoot at higher velocities with rifles especially when casting for .223 and .308. With pistol CB's you will probably be unable to tell the difference. Color of the PC is not the...
