For the loads I run the most I tend to use softer alloys. I've had no trouble with 12 Bhn up to 1600 fps. The only thing I quench is 308 loads over 2000 fps. These are a 1.4%Sn, 2.9%Sb alloy and get quenched when they come out of the PC oven and are...

I use a bit of dacron between 21 gr 4198 and a 250 gr cast bullet, not tamped down just get it started and let the bullet place it as it's seated. It's the most accurate load I've found so far. I don't use a filler with my plinking load of 10 gr...

Not an ar but I've been playing with an old JC Higgins M51-L in 308. Bore and throat are fairly large. I've pretty much settled on the Saeco #315 clone by NOE, sized to .3115, to be able to partially fill and bridge the throat. I'm using PC,...

Guys I've been using Bumpy's calculator for several years on my desktop and really like it. Problem is when I download it for my new Android tablet for portable use. The yellow columns are locked, or at least haven't figured out how to make...

I use the NOE system with very good success. The only problem I have with it is that since it screws into the press from the bottom, the bushing is too low in the cycle making the action outside of the power stroke. Some harder or larger boolets...
