Bought a Marble's tang sight from Midway for my Uberti 1873 Winchester clone. Had it mounted last week, so whenever the weather breaks I can go to the range and give it a try. My problem with the original sight was that with the loads I was...

I've been using Unique. But I just picked up 6 pounds of PB for $20 so I'll be trying that as soon as I get a bunch of empties. I've also got plenty of Promo and Red Dot to try. While I'm not that happy with Unique, it did drop a nice young buck in...

Small rub spots from a feed ramp are perfectly normal. I'm assuming you are loading .45 ACP. How deep you set the bullet is really controlled by the mag and what length will function/feed smoothly from the mag. I wouldn't bother with a harder alloy....

I did the "Poor mans trigger job" before I went shooting. Didn't help. It still shot low. I can shorten the front sight if I need to, but I'm going to try other brands of ammo first.

For me it isn't a matter of trust. My bullets do perfectly well on deer sized game. My problem is with lawyers. So I use factory for personal carry ammo. I don't need/ want to finance some lawyer's children's college education.

I got mine out for the first time today too. Shot CCI Minimags. Fired from a sand bag at 25 yards. Group sizes were right around 1 1/2 inch for 6 rounds. Mine shot about 1 1/2 inch low. Probably would have shot better groups IF I could see the...

.44 mag and .270 for me. Had both and sold both. In my contender, I can load .45 Colts to .44 mag velocities and the blackhawk to nearly the same, so why do I want a .44 mag? And the .30 - 06 works just fine for me as does the 8MM Mauser and...

I had both the colt and the S&W. I used ARs,half moons and full moon clips. The .45ARs were best when you just wanted to refill 1 or 2 chambers. After a while, I just used them and left the moonies at home.

I use a .69 cal Charleville musket with 16 ga. wads and 1 1/8 oz of #6 for squirrels. If I can't see them drop below the smoke, I have to go search for them after the shot. Works well enough. I used to use an original british percussion sxs. First...

I've used 3031 in my -06s for years. Good powder. Just take the time to work up a load.

4198 is a great powder for small cartridges like the .222 Rem and the .223, but it isn't so good with large ones.

How are you defining a pistol? My old Contender with a 10 inch 7TCU barrel , 100 gr bullet and IMR4198 powder will hold 1 1/2 inch groups at 100 yards off sandbags. I used to shoot .22 shillouette with a 6 inch High Standard H-D Military from prone...

I had a RR that tumbled every round. Sent it back to the factory and they replaced the barrel. They sent it back with test targets showing 3 inch groups at 20 yards. That was the best I could get out of it myself. Adequate for defense against...

I've had good luck with the 311299 and the 311291. Both shot well in my .308 and my .30-06.
