I have more primers than other components, but that is because in a pinch, I can scrounge lead for bullets & make any powder work in just about any caliber. Without primers though, reloading comes to a screeching halt. I have an app on my phone that...

I use 13-14m total cook time in preheated oven @ 400. I am now using the empty ammo box holders to set bullets, way faster than standing them alone & I can get 100+ in each tray X 4 trays in my oven at a time.

Probably more about bearing surfaces. The XTP has a very long bearing surface. Cast bullets with grooves have 30-40% less bearing surface. The small diff in OAL isn't moving the pressure needle, especially with very slow powders.

All conventional type lubes will eventually gum things up. It burns & mixes with the burned powder to create a sludge. Been that way for decades. A couple 100 rds, not an issue but for many of us, that is a very short day of shooting.

I've taken apart dozens of live rounds with a kinetic, never an issue. Wear safety glasses just in case though.

I find my load data doesn't really change. The PC or HT is just a lube, you still need proper fit. It is still a softer lead bullet vs most plate & certainly jacketed. So lead data is appropriate. My PC or HT loads are about 20fps faster than...

Alliant Red Dot. I shot #s of it in CAS in 45colt. It does really well in the big 45colt case at modest vel. BTW guys, w/o the distance, posting groups has little meaning.[smilie=f:

You do understand that most chronos are designed to use the sunlight to provide the shadow for the skyscreen to read? You need special skyscreens for indoor readings. The Labdar units do NOT use skyscreens & can be used in any light. Really good...

It is always bullet fit before alloy. When I started casting I did a lot of lino stuff, even for low vel. I had a really cheap source & it beat melting ww, even if free. I think I paid like 25c a pound back then. Today, I use the lino for specialty...
