Should be fine, though I size all my bullets 0.452". FWIW, save some $$ & stop adding the tin. There is enough in the lino to help fill-out.

There is no point in the grooves but I like options, so all my molds have lube grooves. Just eb aware that smooth bullets produce a bit more pressures, more bearing surface.

You do not need a harder alloy if shooting sim loads as your 9 or 40, all produce about the same psi. With coated, I have good results with ranges scrap, water dropped out of the oven after baking the coating, at max vel/pressures. That is 200gr...

Any fast burning powder will work. I like WST but just about anything faster than W231 will do fine if as far down the vel ladder you can go to get slide functioning. I would look at 200gr bullets as the bottom end of bullet wts unless you want to...

The older WIn primers. plated, seem to have thicker cups than the newer unplated. I would check the firing pin, make sure that their isn't a chip or something sharp there. BlueDot can do weird things. Have you tried other powders with those Win...

I have sized .0459" down to 0.452" with good results, just depends on the bullet. The TL designs will lose most of their tiny little grooves, so not the best.

I had an in with a large chain store tire guy. I used to get a 3gal bucket every 2 weeks for $20. Then the yield started to plummet after Kalif banned lead ww, what, 7y ago? I have to think that the lead yield today is maybe 10-15%? Not worth my...

All test platforms are diff, not all bullets are the same. There will always be such discrepancies.

Yes! After my father died I had to sort thru his stuff & he didn't have a lot compared to me. I plan on getting rid of most of it before I hit the wall but **** happens. A good reminder to at least do a prelim inventory of what things are worth &...

You melt clip ww down & cast bullets & they are the size & weight they are. Lighter than pure lead, heavier than Lino or lino alloys.

Probably the most misunderstood aspect of reloading. OAL is ALWAYS bullet & barrel specific. As noted, for revo, just load to the crimp groove. This works for most bullets in most guns but here the cylinder fit is the important part. In a semi,...

Exactly. The primary reason I went from lubes to coatings was smoke & sludge the lube/carbon made in the guns internals.

I get more complaints about leading with TG users than any other, regardless of caliber. It is possible that the rifling in your barrel is rough & cutting the coating. Is it a new barrel? You may try smoothing it a bit by shooting 1000 jacketed or...

If you read some of Elmer Keith's writings, they talked about shooting 1911 with ball ammo & lead bullets in his armory days. They were wearing out barrels with ball ammo in something like 10K rds, not sure of the exact round count. It makes sense...

Over sized throats are better than undersized, though I am surprised the Ruger is that far over. I found my BH were usually right on or slightly smaller. I don't think uniforming a larger than bore dia would be helpful, but probably not hurt...

In an after market bbl you probably don't need 0.358 or even get them to fit the chamber. I run 0.357" in just about everything, but some of the Glock after market bbls are really tight & I can get good results with 0.356" in mixed brass.

Well with lead bullets we get a better gas seal, higher vel. With jacketed that are molly coated, we get less vel, the bullet offers less pressure. So why would a slicker coated bullet be any diff? The diff in vel between conventional lubed & coated...

My ratio is about 2-1 handles to molds. The Lee 6cavs all have their own handles, I don't trust the softer alum to withstand a bunch of changes.
