I don't think you can really nail down when pressures get out of control or leading happens. Variable like type of rifling, bore smoothness, peak pressure & alloy will play into it. I have found no issues going 0.002" over bore dia with magnum...

I have never had PC flake or scratch off. I always smash test & the coating is solid. I bake @ 400 for 15m, water quench out of the oven, regardless of whos powder I use.

I get a little star on the muzzle of my Springfield 1911/9. No build up in the barrel anywhere though. I use a few diff powders from Smoke.

Range scrap runs about 9-10bhn for me. I would cut it 4-1 with lino. If you want it harder, water drop them. I can run anything to 1300-1400 with that.

I don't see why a hardwood block wouldn't work. 400deg isn't enough to fire the wood but not sure about reaction of PC sticking to any wood surface but doubt it. I fond the lastic tray jigs work really well & its stupid simple to fill, invert into a...

I use a convection pizza oven, bought new for $50 from wally. It has two racks. I use wire drawer organizers that are 6x9. Each one holds 150/9mm standing up. So I can bake 600 at a whack. I usually load up two trays though & bake them while I load...

I bought cheap kitchen cabinets & installed a double wide 2X12 top. My presses are mounted on strong mounts or a 4x6 flat to get them up off the bench & out far enough for everything to work & access the drawers.

I run a Lee 20# with pid. I heat the mold on top of the pot or a hot plate if I use two molds. Set the pid for 700 & cast when everything is hot. I have no issue with 4 or 6cav molds. When they start getting too hot & bullets are really frosty, its...

I like making things with my own hands. Casting was an easy choice. I shoot a lot of IDPA, used to do CAS, I enjoy a win with my own bullets. Reloading is a pita, but casting is sort of a zen thing.

Maybe, depends on distance shot. If your gun game guy shooting inside 10-15y, not likely much diff in POI. Why I do weigh bullets to be shot out past 50y, any air pocket will throw a bullet off because it will yaw, not having the weight concentric....

Sooner than later. HF powder is really crap. All of Smokes powders will work better & may be cheaper in the long run as you use less.

That is likely nothing to do with the small weight diff but the diff between jacketed & lead. Not at all uncommon for identical wt bullets of diff manuf to shoot to slightly diff POI.

About what grease lube adds to a bullet, maybe a bit less? BTW, how much will be determined by the bullet size. Big bullet will gain a bit more than smaller bullets, more surface area.

Just curious why you are so intent on using the TL design? It isn't the best for PC, a single groove or no groove bullet will give better results. My time is worth something to me so for the cost of the Lee mold, just move on.

There is no right way. I have a RCBS mold I use for pure lead only. I just fill it full. I have larger molds for diff alloy. Every alloy type has a diff mold shape. Easier to keep track of things for me.

This is what I do as well with PC. It gives a little BHN bump, like 2-3, probably mostly at the surface, which is fine, where my rifling hits. Those that water drop out of the mold then PC for 15-20m & aircool are probably negating the water drop...

ANy weight added is pretty uniform from PC. IMO, unless I am shooting bullets past 50y, I never weigh my bullets. Uniformity is great, but unless you can shoot 1" 25y offhand groups, you will never see accuracy advantage from weighing. Unless you...

IMO, far too much agony over exact alloy, especially for pistol bullets that are coated. I shoot mostly range scrap, who knows the exact composition. I will tweak it with lino if it isn't casting right, but it just doesn't matter that much. As...

There is a very short distance where the bullet gets disrupted as it hits the air leaving the muzzle, but most pistol bullets are stable within a couple feet from the bore, never an accuracy issue.

I think they call them 9mm? Seriously, shooting a big bore is just going to cost you more. There are some good 185gr but that isn't enough lead savings to get me to stop shooting 200gr.

There are plenty of places that sell once fired 10mm. I occasionally get $50 off coupons at idpa matches & will buy 1000 new Starline. It lasts a long time even running full power.

When doing plated, I smash them to break the plating. I have had them pop during a melt plus the lead doesn't really have a way out of a plated bullet that is intact.
