I think gain twist might have some advantage with lead boolits, as it would allow the boolit to enter and fill the rifling without the harsh high speed spin that will likely cause it to strip on the faster twist rifling. The only experience I had...

I like flintlock guns, they are easier for me to shoot then a caplock gun. While hunting, I don't bring an unfired muzzleloader inside where it can draw moisture.

A crimp can be beneficial if you're using slow burning powders to allow the bullet to stay in place just a few milliseconds to help give a more complete and cleaner burn of the powder. In my T/C Contender I seat the bullet out to just touching the...

Whatever you do, don't ever let your wife clean your garage, workshop or loading room, especially when you're not there. She'll throw away everything that "SHE" thinks is no good or worthless. Don't ask me how I know this.

The only thing that proved to be unreliable was the mainspring that would break from time to time. That is why Ruger used a coil mainspring in their revolvers.

My guess would be 350 for 25-30 minutes. When cooking in the oven, I rely on my sniffer. If I can smell it and it smells done, give another 5 minutes.

Your ability to shoot accurately in the field (Off hand, setting or from the side of a tree) will far outweigh any difference in bullet weight you are getting. I'd consider it a non-factor.

Your chances of getting struck by lightning might be better then a deadly bear encounter. But, I'd take the shotgun with heavy slugs. PS, If you're hiking in the mountains and a thunderstorm shows up, ditch the lightning rod you have for a gun.
