Yeah, I get much better sighting results by using targets with a much larger, high contrast center - like black on white. Wavering on the large center can be minimized by using a 6-O'clock hold (when shooting for group or zero, hi location...

. You may want to use Starline 32-20 brass to make 25-20 brass. Starline makes the 32-20 just a tad short, and necking the brass down usuallyy makes it grow, but there's not enough growth to get full length 25-20 specs. All the same, they...

I've patched 141gr and 147gr smooth side boolits and at subsonic, accuracy was impressive. I don't know which boolit weight was the accurate one. This was through a 'rust modified' bore. I have wondered whether a plain cast with those same...

Hot loads are defined three criteria. First and most important is safety. SAAMI for the 45 Colt is 14,000 PSI due to the older Colt 1873's. On a side note that is too "hot" for the original Blackpowder Frame 1873 Colts per Colt. The SAAMI...

Hornady One-Shot spray is all I use. I do find the directions stating 1 minute dry time is enough may be an issue. Ten minutes is much better. Some good discussion here https://www.ar15.com/forums/armory/-/42-305248/

9.5 is Alliant's max is 9.5 but keep in mind that is for the very low SAAMI pressures of the 45 Colt. Both your rifles are good to at least three times that pressure.

The S&W M25 in 45 Colt has relatively thin cylinders walls. 25K seems to be commonly agreed max for them. Blackhawks will handle more. 1200 fps with cast and Lil' Gun is a Hodgdon recommend safe load for Blackhawks.

You can use a gas checked design sans gas check, but at much lower velocity than 2,300fps. People generally report good accuracy when omitting the gas check at speeds less than 1,600fps, all else being equal. OTOH, there's no harm in trying is...
