Squeezing the lead as you seat your bullets? Check this by pulling a couple loaded rounds and measuring. Fixes. 1) acquire a larger diameter expander plug/spud 2) Use harder lead, so when you seat the bullet it won't get down sized by tough 9 mm...

The firing pin for the H&R muzzle loader is to big for a 209 primer, designed for a percussion cap. Many years back before all the inlines hit the market I was taking the H&R shotguns and making them into muzzle loaders using the 209 primers. Then...

The Deer I shot this year was tough, maybe it was because I took the hide off in the woods, brought it home and was all cut up and in the freezer before Dark. Most years I can't get to them for a Day or Two and they are very tender. I think...

I think there are about ten different 40-70 chamber reamers with the 40-72 also fitting in there. The difference between a 40-72 and a 405 is the bullet diameter, both use the same brass. I did my Phoenix in 40-50 SS but have not made any ammo yet...

I use 262 Loctite for liners. Never had one come loose and a bit of a pain if you install the wrong liner and have to remove it ( don't ask).

Any car wax product that leaves a finish on the brass will retard tarnishing for a period of time. I prefer those that contain a carnauba wax as the shining agent. I just add it to 20/40 ground corn cob in the tumbler as a finishing process, and...

There is no restriction on what type of bullets can be discussed. Just keep the discussions civil.

If you run across some Hornady once fired brass, it will already be shortened for you. I have to segregate my Hornady .45 Colt brass from my other brass, since it's shorter. Hope this helps. Fred

The greatest thing about the 06 , not to diminish all mentioned, if you forgot your ammo at home, you can borrow or buy a box of 06s anywhere

You know..... I have shot some pretty impressive groups with the light layer of lanolin still left over on the bullet. Not neatly as pretty looking but the holes in paper looked the same :)

I have done a few doubles and found that a nut can be made to fit the chamber of a shotgun barrel, the barrel turned down to fit the bore and threaded for the chamber nut. The nut is left long so it can be tightened and then cut off. The one I'm...

Check and make sure your primers are seated all the way. My goal is to seat them .004" below flush with the base of the case. This sets the anvil into the primer pellet properly. You can also put a small #6 thin washer under the hammer spring...

That's how they used to make them. There may be a two digit date code on the top of them, or not, depending on when they were made. Hope this helps. Fred
