That is nice! Do you know if they are going to have the Maryland Antique Arms collector show in Baltimore in March this year? Or has the covid thing made that impossible?

Over the years I've built a number of rifles on the M-17 and P-14 actions except for one 45-70, which worked quite well considering the action length, the rest were all 375 H&H or 416 Rigby. For me to invest my time and money these actions are best...

I've had a pair of glasses made for shooting and I bought the SSP shooting glasses. Both allow me to see the sights but the target is still an indistinct blur. Unfortunately fixed focus lenses do not allow my eyes to see both sights and target...

Why not offer to trade your 30 Remington for 32 Remington and save the hassle. If you can't trade them I would advise pulling them down and annealing the necks and then fire forming them with a light load of fast powder topped with cornmeal with a...

I've not had very good luck with any hulls in 28 gauge even HS or STS. All of them seem to split after just a few loadings. Given the cost of 28 bore loads the short life of the hulls is disappointing.

Bison with a Sharps, now I'll really jealous. I've taken a couple of Mule Deer with my 1874 45 2 1/10th and hope to some day take an elk with it. No bison available here in Oregon since sometime after the last ice age. Our elephants went away...

You may want to check the bore dimensions on your new to you 30-40 as some earlier Winchester barrels weren't bored to modern specifications. With my model 95 30-03 the best I could do for groups was minute-of-hub cap at 50 yards until I slugged...

I have a S&W #2 army that I want to shoot but don't want to use up my small stash of original rimfire rounds. Guess I had better move this project closer to the top of the list. Next time I'm at Home Depot I'll look for ram set blanks. After that I...

When I can find them I much prefer originals. Of the Winchesters I have there are two model 95's, a takedown in 30-03 and a 405 but, I'm always looking for the next old treasure. I do shoot the old ones and hunt with them, here's a mule deer I took...

OK, it's official, I'm jealous. I saw a 95 in 35 Winchester a few years ago at a small sporting goods store in Burns, Oregon. I thought it was a common steel model 95 but apparently I was mistaken, it had to have been solid gold according to the...

elk hunter replied to a thread DGW brass scope in Muzzleloading.
On my set of rings/bases the screwdriver slot on the elevation screw faces down and you need to loosen both lock nuts and turn the screw clockwise to raise the rear of the scope to raise the point of impact. The large set nut locks the ring to the...

elk hunter replied to a thread DGW brass scope in Muzzleloading.
The DGW scope I have is intended to be mounted to the left of the centerline of the barrel with the bases screwed to the top of the barrel. This arrangement allows windage adjustment via the front mount/ring dovetail. Elevation is set via the large...

If there is a black powder silhouette group or a black powder gunsmith near you put out the word that you're looking for a barrel. You never know what may turn up.
