Have a low Mark II safety installed on a Mauser 98. When the lever is pushed all the way up the safety functions fine. When the lever is partially lifted up and the trigger is pulled, the gun will fire when the lever is returned to the fire...

Danth replied to a thread P.O. Ackley .228 and .230 in Swaging
That makes sense. I'm curious though what construction details would be necessary to push a bullet that fast?

Ackley suggested best results could be attained with the .228 Ackley and .230 Ackley with the use of properly constructed bullets, but doesn't state how these bullets should be constructed. Think he's talking about heavy jackets?

Danth replied to a thread .228 bullets in Swaging
Thanks for all the information. Yes, I have a rifle that takes .228 bullets. I've always made my own dies and figured I'd make a set for these, but it occurred to me that perhaps .224 could be bumped up to work, eliminating some of the steps.

Danth started a thread .228 bullets in Swaging
What's the best way to form .228 bullets? Do I need to make a die, or is there a way to bump up .224 bullets? Thanks, Dan

I've installed a slip-on Lyman ramp sight and am looking for a hood. The proper hood has a notch for a detent ball. Anybody have one? Thanks, Dan

Thanks to all who responded to this thread. Looks like I'll be making one. Found a 98 follower which is very similar to the Siamese follower. It's as hard as a diamond, so I guess modifications will need to be done with a grinder.
