Am I doing something wrong? I just fire up the the pot and start pouring. I let the molten lead burn off any residual oil as it heats up the cavities.. Within just a few minutes I am rolling like normal. Never a problem doing it this way and that's...

After doing a good bit of debating over what to get since ditching the 550 and 1050 I decided to call Ponsness Warren to see of we could strike a deal on a Metallica 2. The lady who answered the phone could not help me so I was transferred to...

Since it was raining this morning and was scheduled to do so most of the day I made a powder run up to Gamaliel Shooters supply. Took the wife and 4 1/2 year old and drove on over to Dale Hollow for a look as I had never been there before. Beautiful...

I have one but haven't used it in years. I am thinking about breaking it out and using it some since I got rid of the 550 and 1050.

Sure is! Real good guy. It was my first time in a Beaver. I sat in the co-seat. When we were about to take off the hinge on the engine cowling broke and it came up and hit the windshield in front of me! He just shut it down in the middle of the...

Ahhh. Moosehead lake. Beautiful country. I worked up that way for a few months 5 years ago. Took the now wife up in a float plane. She wasn't too keen on the idea but laughs about it now. Sent from my SM-J727V using Tapatalk

I always wash my hands after handling lead but that is mainly to get the dirt off my hands. It just makes sense not to eat after handling lead due to the transfer from hand to food to mouth. Now when I worked trauma ER i met a lot of folks who got...

Beau Cassidy replied to a thread Knee replacement in Our Town
As a general rule every day for the first 2 or 3 months you will regret having it done but if it affects your quality of life such as sleep and mobility it is time to put a new one in. Part of the delay in healing is the need to split and cut a lot...

Yep, Lloyd. I can't speak for other providers but I play the insurance game all the time and love to take advantage of them when I can. I will gladly write for 3 months worth of a med or write it to be taken a little more often than needed but only...

Oh ****! I gotta see one of those! I wasn't happy AT ALL with the 1050 to the point I unbolted mine and chunked it in the yard. Glad my buddy was there to take it away. Their primer feed system has major, major flaws.

Beau Cassidy replied to a thread Linotype in Lead and Lead Alloys
You are gonna get a bunch of answers on this one... most folks will say judge by the melting temp but everybody doesn't have a thermometer nor would I get one just to check the temp of a single piece of lead. The end looks like what a linotype pig...

I bought one 2 or 3 years ago. Haven't shot it yet. It's still in the box in the safe. I bought it because I felt like it near way undervalued for what it is. Still no plans to shoot it as I have plenty others in the stable ready to go

One of my benches has a laminated 2 by 4 butcher block style of top I made. The other is 3 pieces of 3/4 inch birch plywood. Both are stout. What I don't understand is why everybody puts a metal plate or support on the top of the press when (to me)...
