Good for you! There is something about self-sufficiency that makes this hobby very pleasurable. My significant other calls it "man knitting". Scrounging for lead, sorting, smelting, alloying, casting lube/sizing, and reloading all bring a whole...

OK....granted. BUT there is more to a mould than fast turnaround. I believe it DOES matter how moulds are made. I think this is particularly true with the raw materials the mould makers start with. Most of the earlier (up to the 70's and maybe even...

I respectfully disagree. When Hensley & Gibbs were making moulds in the 40's 50's and 60's and maybe even the 70's, THAT was the golden age. I don't think anyone has come close to the tolerances and quality of those moulds. I own a fair number of...

No question here - Hensley & Gibbs are the best. Been collecting and using them for 30+ years. Second, I have 2 Carpenteria CA SAECO moulds from the original SAECO Company. Bought them from Paul Fitz Jones probably 30 years ago. Still have the...

Pretty simple - I buy in bulk period. Since casting and shooting pistol caliber machine guns (not counting the M16) is my main source of burning up powder and primers, I buy by 8 lb'ers by the case (4 per) and split it with a friend. Powder Valley...

To the mods: 1) Is there still the categories like team, donor, sponsor, etc? I can't seem to find them anywhere. 2) Why did you choose to use PayPal? They are anti-gun and are actively shutting people's accounts down when they see gun related...

Keep it up. I have a 4 cavity #130 with handles that I got with the batch of H&G's I bought. I haven't cast with it yet so I don't know if I want to keep it. In the event I decide to sell with would a #130 sub for the #68? Just asking at this point.

Great yard sale find! $2! As near as I can determine this is very early 1900's DuPont Powder, maybe black powder but late enough for smokeless. Nice label but the tin itself has lost most of its paint. Looks kind of like a small whiskey flask....

I have shipped lots of cast bullets. I pack them DOUBLE in those Tyvek envelopes. I stuff the MFRB boxes with newspapers to take up the slack. Brass gets shipped the same way. Use the nylon reinforced tape on all the corners and edges. Never had a...

If you don't get your mould I have one that I might be able to cast some bullets for you. 4 cavity #73. Could size them .358" with Magma lube. Very strange shaped bullet but apparently extremely accurate. Let me know if you don't get any bites.

One thing I learned from my accident is that MedPay was way too low. I upped it to $25,000 and that is probably still too low. Since we are still treating we haven't started trying to settle up with our insurance company's uninsured motorist...

We were stopped in a construction zone and got hit by an uninsured millennial going 50 mph. He left 10 feet of skid marks. Was texting. $30,000 later in medical bills and a totaled Mercedes E320 later, we are still treating. I took a bath on the...

Ah.....the joys of home ownership. Wait until you wake up one morning and you don't have water. With an 880 foot deep well with the pump at 550 feet, the pump either works or it doesn't. Period. The well guys had to subcontract to a derrick truck...

Similar thing with my then 10 year old son and us murdering our TV. We pulled the plug 25 years ago and we have not had TV since then. We took it to the range and machine gunned it. He liked the S&W 76 with a suppressor. We finished it off with...
