The H&G No.50 is a 148 gn. wadcutter with a small nose. It has 3 rounded grease grooves and 1 crimp groove. H&G was so dominant in molds their mold numbers were used by other manufacturers.

A noticeable degradation of your steadiness (wobble area) will cause you to "snatch" or jerk the trigger. The end result is much worse than the initial lose in wobble area.

I have a Marlin in 44 mag. It needs a fat bullet due to bore size. The nominal size for a 44 mag rifle is .431 versus the bore of .429 for a pistol. I have settled on powder coating a bullet for this rifle. A powder coated cast bullet is about...

I did the same thing except I laid the drill on it's side. I used a Makita drill and chucked the bolt (minus the bolt head)into the drill chuck. Why nickel brass? Would not plain brass be easier to trim?

The velocity should be much higher for the 148's. Is there a noticeably different amount of recoil between the two loads? A quicker powder may be a better application but 2400 should do OK. I would suspect the chrono results are incorrect.
