Paper Puncher Since the 1968 GCA it has been officially illegal for personal sale of a handgun to cross state lines. Originally long guns were the same way. No sales across state lines of any gun. The law was relaxed about 1990 or so to allow long...

One suggestion I would add is to buy a 20 lb. furnace and a hot plate. A PID makes the process much easier. I recommend a 20 lb. pot because once you get the temps. right you can produce a lot of bullets before adding lead to the pot. Cold lead...

IIRC, it is federally illegal for a handgun to cross state lines without a FFL dealer in the state of residence of the purchaser's to do a background check. Though tough to enforce for face to face transactions, an FFL dealer can not sell a handgun...

Swift is known for other optic products like telescopes. I read several years ago they were one of the better buys in rifle scopes.

The Star lube sizer was picked up by Magna(sp?). Everything is available and the dies are the same. There a couple of people on this forum that make the dies also along with top punches.

Many of the period rifles weRe not drilled and tapped for today's scope mount. They have the Unertl mounts thus people use the existing mounts and thus Unertl scopes. People are hesitant to drill and tap a vintage rifle.

I would check the outer rim of the case and the extractor groove also. Brass that has been reloaded several times can flatten out the rim and increase the rim diameter. The increased diameter may not allow the brass to slide up the breechface. The...

It will take a while to get back and takes some pictures. One magazine which I think is .308 is very wide and would not fit in an AR-10, M1A or Sar8. Something to think about until I get pictures.

Take a black marker and darken the areas mentioned in my last post. Top barrel lugs, sides and back of barrel hood and extractor rim of case. Work the action and determine your contact points. One of them is not allowing the slide to fully close. ...

If the contact is at 11 o'clock, Is the barrel throated at that position. If there is a a sharp corner then the interference may be slowing the slide down and not allowing it to "slam home". I had a Kart barrel do this but the rounds would stop...

There are a couple of Shot Analyzers on the market that look promising. They are the Mantis X and the Targetize. I can not find much info about them online. Does anyone have experience with either? They are priced between $100 to $150 bucks. I am...

Is the mark on the bullet on the top or bottom. Mark a few pieces of brass with a marker and load them with the mark on top. Chamber a few of these rounds and determine where the mark on the bullet is and what it is hitting. Look at the rim of...

I had a friend die tragically. He had an extensive collection of military rifles. Hundreds of magazines were stored at random in several places. I spent 5 hours matching up mags with rifles today. I ended up with magazines with no rifles and rifles...

I have found with brass molds open them slightly to let the heat flow up through them. It will also get the sprue plate hot. I find a cold sprue plate keeps you from making good bullets with a brass mold. They heat at different rates.

The 200 gn. H&G 68 is the most popular bullet in Bullseye competition. It is accurate and feeds reliably in the 1911. The Lyman 452460 is accurate as well. If you shoot much you will appreciate a 4 cavity down the road. I have iron, brass and...

The 38 super brass is thicker internally to handle the increased pressure at the unsupported area at the feed ramp. If using 38 Auto brass I would not load it above 38 auto pressures. You may need a lighter recoil spring for the reduced loads. Any...
