One local company will not fill a personally owned, non white tank. They require a white finish as identification. That is the only way to find one friends house. If his tank were green you would never see the place. I think you did good, though a...

The biggest problem I see with downloading the Creedmoor to a 1100 fps level is case volume. I believe you would be much better served with a case that you could fill to a higher percentage of it's volume. Internet shows the 6.5 holding 52.1 gr of...

Veral Smith term, Long Flat nose, Long Medium Nose, Flat Nose, Wide Flat Nose. I don't think I have had one of his fliers since two moves ago. The terms are about bullet length to meplate ratio.

Figure 350 lbs per year for each year you figure you have left to shoot in. If you are a competitive shooter that might be raised to 1000 lbs per year depending on what you shoot. If you are an occasional plinker, figure the weight of each round,...

I line right up with 35 Remington's and Outpost 75's posts within this thread. I haven't shot much Jello, but I have attended autopsies and interviewed trauma surgeons at some length. Without a shred of doubt--Elmer Keith's "Half-ounce, .40"+, 900...

MT Gianni replied to a thread 9mm SWC questions in Cast Boolits
In general a SWC has a shoulder that can hang up when feeding in an auto. A Round Flat bullet may feed easier. Reloading cast 9mm is a college level course if 38 special is a high school freshman one. It is certainly attainable but a tough place to...

Magnum primers are best used with ball powders. AA9, H110 and 296 come to mind.

MT Gianni replied to a thread 30-30 to 30-30ai in Leverguns
I don't really see the need for the AI with Lever powder and jacketed. I see too much meat damage with cast and high impact velocities. The standard 30-30 is about perfect for 150-170 gr bullets and shots under 100 yards.

I don't think the 45 Colt should be loaded with carbide dies, either for accuracy or longevity.

MT Gianni replied to a thread 30 Gibbs build in Our Town
The Gibbs cartridges have seen very little action in the US since the 60's. Add to that the fact that Rocky's notes are gone and few of us remember them let alone much about them.

It will be an interesting spring as these two team share a spring training center. I don't think Turner will get over his base running call easily. I liked the outcome but the Astros played very well.

I think you will find the 1422xBHN= MINIMUM PRESSURE NEEDED TO OBTURATE THE BULLET BASE is correct. Now as for rules with cast bullet velocities and pressure, there are none written in stone simply by BHN, just like the RPM limit theory![smilie=1:...
