Try the search function. I know I have seen this topic before and it was likely on this forum (but maybe not).

For those wondering about push button rifling, Bob Hart thought it worked fine and Hart barrels have a very good reputation for accuracy.

Yes parts are hard to find for the Swiss beauties. Rock Solid has some neat after market parts for them like 10 round magazine, new firing pin, and mainspring.

Mine sits on the shelf with the other manuals, the white plastic spline is cracked and doubt I will mess with it.

An ounce will last a lifetime if you don't spill it. I now use Amsoil Saber 2 stroke oil, works just the same.

My experience has been that people with that mind set do not last long when/if forced into retirement in any manner. You are certainly correct when you say " Their choice though"! More power and a long happy life to them!

All I had was 15 rds of the Nazi stuff and that was a long time ago, but yes it had a thump to it. Somebody with some Nazi ammo left could pull one down and weigh the powder charge, I just used an online recoil calculator. I did find it interesting...

Battis if you look at post 31 you'll see I used the load I shoot of 4064, I only had 15 rounds of the Nazi ammo and shot it up years ago, but I did chrono 5 rounds of it. 9-27-09 2265-2330-2215-2339-2275, 2285 FPS average, if you corrected that...

The pot is similar to the small cast Lyman pot, only somewhat larger (not much) although I have never actually measured the amount it would hold. It is shaped like a (very small) "witches'" pot, sans legs and has a flat bottom. I am however curious...

A good soak in water/citric acid will remove all the rust and then you can pick one of the many ways to season it. I found an old cast lead pot at the flea market. It had obviously been sitting out in the environment for a long time and was covered...

I just recently started drawing down .338 Hot core 200 gr to load in the 8x56R, 46 grs IMR 4064 gives almost identical velocity as the Nazi ammo, but with an extreme spread of 1/4 that of the surplus ammo. Five of the surp gives 2285 fps with ES...

I used WSF for similar velocity and accuracy in the 30/06 with 200 gr cast. I still use SR4756 for RB loads in 12 ga, although I haven't shot or loaded any in a few years. Alcan AL5 was similar also but always left unburnt flakes, and good luck...
