I'm interested in The World. The Humankind and nature, everything. I follow things. I have lived in NYC,Brazil,India... travelled quite a bit, too. I then settled down here in the countryside, now The World can be reached from a hammock with a...

One MOA with cast makes Markku a jealous boy. We are around the same BHN then, you maybe 12-13. 14-16 or so is good for me 45-70 / 500 S&W / 357 Mag. I load full power. I'm just making that 14 BHN from WW/Pure to save WW which can't be found...

Yep,even the Quick Load program has both SAAMI and CIP options for 357 magnum pressure. I took a pic of a load of mine, NOTE THE CARBINE BARREL LENGTH. That's what I am actually getting from a carbine, too.

I'll scratch the surface: We have a good selection available. The laws are changing all the time, making things more complicated, little by little. EU is coming in and there's a continuing "guns are bad" atmosphere from certain political corners....

I didn't know that "obsolete" 38 Special has such a following. I tried some 38's in a 357 and liked it. But I rather shoot my 38's in a 38 gun... then I just happened to check those throats in the shop and they fit great, the gun feels great,all...

Yes that was it. Loads were 43,500 psi back then, add to that the Federal primer that was used in the 125 Federal load... SAAMI max is 35000 now since -95 or so... CIP is still 43,5k. All 357 Magnum guns are CIP proofed at around 60k psi here in...

To flare is one thing,to expand is another. Everything else being the same, expanding necks can make or break a load. Lyman M-die is a solid & simple solution as long as it's large enough for your particular bullet. A large, soft bullet likes more...

    An absolutely shameless copy-paste here: ---------------------------- Mar 17, 2013 #4 Sr40ken, The 357 Magnum has quite a history. It was developed in 1935 using a S&W N-frame revolver ... now known as a S&W Mod 27 or 28. These revolvers...

I mentioned Mihec NLG above. It's just too small (.359) for the Rossi carbine that I planned it for. Shoots great and clean in a 586, heat treated from 8 to 14 BHN, the last bake being 30 min. I'm perfectly fine with Chocolate colour, this...

Yeah,I was surprised to see a shattered 14 BHN bullet. They may be more fragile right after the oven, though? Until they settle down. I measured 36 BHN in one batch (440F/One hour) but they went down to 20 after a few days. And maybe there's more...

I typed wrong about Lee "turret",which I have and have used but I meant an old Lee 1000 for my 9 mm sub loads. One can call that Lee progressive, right? I almost prefer that Lee to my LNLAP,I like to SEE things. With Lee I don't pre-size and...

Yeah, most probably it's a user error but I removed the priming system after so many spills. There should be a 1000 primer tube station. 100 is not worth the whole setup time/effort in my opinion. Heck I make subsonic 9 mm with a Lee turret w/...

Well I have wanted a lever 500 S&W since 2003 when I got my first 500. I tend to think that the guys at Big Horn know the best... If I was a gunsmith with a full shop I might DIY... maybe not.

It's the other way round, primers and powder in Finland are expensive, making 9 mm 15 cents a pop to load, that excludes bullet price. Factory 9 mm ammo can be found cheaper or about the same. Only larger calibers make economical sense to load...

Even when/if priming works,I don't like it because you won't see when a primer tube gets empty. Then you spill powder through the hole and have to dissassemble everything. Repeat. Otherwise I like LNLAP, a solid system with a good case activated...

I have some super hard 50/50 mono/ww .500 bullets that have grown unusable in 10+ years. If I'm going to use them I'll coat them first to anneal, then size. But all that antimony could be used better.
