I use my little Frankfort Arsenal digital for weighing bullets mostly. And to check on occasion how my progressive's measure is doing. When I reset that measure it's with my beam scale though! And I make use of my scale weight set religiously. ...

As does a "click" on the ratchet. Either way works but I prefer the ratchet. Another little note, when using the rod I found it useful to apply a little loctite to the balls as they tended to loosen with use.

Don't quote me on this but I believe the I had a ratchet for the pressure screw and the II uses a double ball sliding gizmo. Most prefer the I because of that. Mine is the II. A simple socket with a slot cut in it easily converts you to use a...

I've really forgotten over the years probably most of what I learned in school. Somehow can't put my mind about having #14 on anything but a light bulb circuit and certainly not a 220v setup. My pots are on #12 with 20amp breakers all of about 3...

Mike W1 replied to a thread PID from OBIII in Casting Equipment
Know I've seen posts by him somewhere but which site doesn't ring any dongs. Might try a PM to OBIII and see if that helps. I didn't spot him in the sponsor section FWIW.

I'll take the liberty of answering that. I'm sure what he's referring to is the whole nine yards which is merely a PID controller that's housed in a box along with the wiring, etc. You plug the box into an outlet, plug the pot into the outlet on...

km101 started a thread Old .45 ACP in Vintage Ammo
A few years ago I was given some .45 acp ammo that was pretty corroded. The box doesn’t show where it was made but is stamped “Repacked EC 5-44”. The cases appear to be steel, or at least a white metal. The bullet appears to be a standard 230...

Don't remember reading this thread when I built my units but it's kind of interesting to see how things evolved since it was started. By the time I got around to doing mine the consensus seemed to be mount the TC 1/2" from bottom and sides and that...
