Froggie; That sounds like a DANDY! I can hardly wait to see and shoot it! You do know that this calls for another "North/South .32 Skirmish" do you not? I will practice tirelessly in order to uphold the honor of the north:mrgreen: Dale53

Mega; That looks to be a good test. Now, take the last load (that is a very useful speed for small game) and do a ten round test. Five with the powder against the primer and five against the bullet. If I had a .327, I would probably opt for...

I used my Marlin lever action (late model) a LOT before I lost the vision in my right eye. I used Lyman’s 257420, cast of linotype, and sized to .258”. I used Hornady crimp on gas checks. My squirrel load was 4.0 grs. Of Unique. This was a SUPERB...

That squares with my personal experience, too. I got off the .22 rimfire for field use when I was a young adult. I have never been disappointed with a proper small game load in my .32's and I used them a lot for that purpose. FWIW Dale53

Brian Pearce's article in the Handloader #312 on page 14 in "Bullets and Brass" covers the problems with the .327 wide velocity swings. FWIW Dale53

Mega; The Handloader - gentleman wrote in complaining about it and Brian Pierce agreed that he had seen it, also. 1/8” in that relatively small caliber CAN make a difference. Me, I will continue to be MORE than happy with my .32 S&W Long and .32...

There have been complaints of the .327 when used with less than full loads. Velocity swings of more than 100 fps with accuracy problems. That would disqualify the .327 for me. On the other hand, I have had no such problem with either the .32 S&W...

I am a BIG fan of .32’s for range and small game use. However, that, to me, means a 100 gr WC or SWC AT 850-950 fps. Like most hunters, I didn’t normally wear ear protection while hunting. I have ZERO desire of a one shot “eardrum shattering” 1500...

Guesser; I appears that you got a gem! I have had a lot of good luck with Smiths over the years in many calibers. I surely treasure them and shoot them regularly from .32, .38/.357, .44 Special/.44 magnum, and .45 ACP's. All had throats with...

Rod; Good to hear from you! That Model 60 has been an excellent performer. Contrary to my good friend, the Green Frog, I LOVE the issue grips.👍👍👍 All the best to you and yours, Dale53

Charlie; I would not assume anything. You should actually measure the throats. Pin gauges are the easiest to use, but you can get good results by removing the cylinder, and slug each throat measuring the soft lead slugs with a precision micrometer...

I have certainly used my 60-4 over the years. It is the perfect “side gun” carried crossdraw while bird hunting with a shotgun. I have taken a bushel basket of cottontails, snowshoe rabbits and the ocasional wounded grouse with that fine piece. ...
