Nice gun Efin, my friend is a work from home dealer and has a 357 Blackhawk at $200 below list price. I've grabbed it as all of my Vaqueros and Blackhawks are 44s and 45s.

Looking good Hal! That 50 yard group looks pretty nice. I wonder if the 75 yard group might be tightened up a bit by roughing up the ball a bit for more grip on the wad... or patching for tighter fit. The wads look good but I wonder if the ball...

Just a word of caution... from what I get looking at load data and comparing the BPI short hull info I have with regular 2 3/4" loads I believe that just shortening hulls, removing cushion leg wads and using hard card wads will raise pressures...

Some cowboy shooters use the 2 1/2" paper hulls to load there rounds with for cowboy action shooting. They use less powder and shot and a 97 Winchester pump will hold 6 rounds for there wild bunch matches. I do not know where they get the empty...

That's what I call fine accuracy! And that's great shooting, period! I had my cataracts removed and see well, now, at distances. But I have to wear reading glasses to see the front sight. Good luck.

I spend the extra money for the premixed ethanol free fuel. Makes my little saw act like it is a much bigger saw than it is, and turns my 64cc husky into a beast.

Since Winchester never chambered the 1873 in .45 Colt it's gotta be another maker! In fact, historically, the .45 Colt was never chambered in rifles because of it's small rim. It's only in modern times we see such chambering.

Do a pound cast or chamber cast and cast your boolits to fit. It is not uncommon for 45-70 to be able to easily chamber a .460 -.462 boolit. That may be with a .4575 bore - it is your chamber that you need to measure. We have not talked about...

The solid soft lead bullet is undoubtably the best and most satisfactory expanding bullet that has ever been designed. It invariably mushrooms perfectly, and never breaks up. With the metal base that is essential for velocities of 2000 f.s. and upwards to protect the naked base, these metal-based soft lead bullets are splendid.
John Taylor - "African Rifles and Cartridges"

Forget everything you know about loading jacketed bullets. This is a whole new ball game!
