You have several issues to consider - is this for display or for carrying in the woods? One is low cut and fancy, the other is protected, probably with an open toe (so crap that falls in falls through) and rather plain because it's gonna get...

I have a Yamaha 1800 watt gen I purchased when HUGO came through 30 years ago. I had considered purchasing a huge gen as I thought I needed to run the whole house but when I saw the fueling requirements decided I only needed enough to keep the...

If you have a relatively strong reloading press and a bullet pulling die no, not difficult. A little time consuming, and you will need to adjust the powder as well. Probably not something for a novice reloader to consider.

Hunter makes/made good quality plain holsters. They are a good basic holster, you can go very far up from there, but for a good basic holster I look for a Hunter.

Larry did not elaborate because he has so many times before. Unique is not position sensitive. 4227 is more so and a filler can help consistency.

BPL, I've tried the .618" RB rolled between 2 coarse files and as cast, both with OP & OS wads, and the 2 foulers in the photo above. My gun didn't care for it at all at either 25- or 50 yd. Not being critical, but just saying different guns, with...

My punch has about a 30 degree taper down to the inside diameter of the jacket. The straight part at the tip is about 1/4” long and serves to make sure the jacket is pushed all the way into the die before the case is expanded and pinched. The...

Learn to reload at least. You can get a complete one caliber setup for around $200-250 and will be set for life. If your kids want to shoot they will be as well. If you want you can pick up casting as well but I'd buy cast PC'd boolits from one...

The problem is people try to compare cast bullets to jacketed. They don't work the same.

Since you already have the .308 then just download it as described above. Yes, you can use the same flat nose bullets you can use in the 30-30 and get exactly the same performance. I don't know about double lung, but my dad once shot a deer...

I am pretty sure in that picture that the punch is being withdrawn. The jacket is already split/creased at the desired length. Wiggling the split Portion of the case will cause it to break free from the case. Here’s a set of pictures and...

About waksupi
Somers, Montana, a quaint little drinking village, with a severe hunting and fishing problem.
Firearms and related junk accumulator

The solid soft lead bullet is undoubtably the best and most satisfactory expanding bullet that has ever been designed. It invariably mushrooms perfectly, and never breaks up. With the metal base that is essential for velocities of 2000 f.s. and upwards to protect the naked base, these metal-based soft lead bullets are splendid.
John Taylor - "African Rifles and Cartridges"

Forget everything you know about loading jacketed bullets. This is a whole new ball game!
