I'm with msm... the original design wad slug with the exception of slightly more taper on pins. That's 3 of us! Speak up everyone... what do you want? If the full bore version goes I may get that too but wad slug for sure, smooth or tumble lube,...

It’s not that easy. Here is a good article: http://www.castpics.net/subsite2/Classics/Determining%20Alloy%20composition.pdf

Yes there is! Cast a good boolit from pure lead, then one with your favourite alloy and weigh the boolit. Divide the weight of alloy over pure to get a % difference. If pure lead is taken as 100%, adding tin and antimony will make it lighter. 96%...

Bluejay when you say "I’m going to ask him to go final on the design. Short nose." is that the shorter fatter nose shown in the sketch rather than the original Buckbuster nose? I like the original Buckbuster nose. I haven't seen others posting...

I first met Jeff & Boge over 10 year ago. We are members of a group who gather up down in Arkansas for a weekend of shooting, swapping tales and some picking and grinning. Both are fine men I'm proud to call friends. Jeff has been going through it...

Both of mine shoot well, one rifled, one smoothbore. At shoots in this area, you are only allowed to load one cylinder at a time in competitions due to safety factors. That is thanks to a doofus who managed to shoot himself in the shoulder a few...

I had the same problem with Unique in my 32-20. I checked my five measures and it bridged in all of them. I bought an old Belding and Mull off eBay years ago and have used that for all my rifle loading since. As long as I pay attention to the...

Actually I remember reading that the Mauser Brothers did the research and concluded that the 9x57 case was the most effecient BP case, just before the advent of smokeless. I have a 9.3x57 - and a boolit mold, and a chronograph. Oh well, another...

Consider also your platform. Very different loading for a semiauto than for a Contender barrel. For a semiauto you have minimum of functioning the slide and on the other end you want to avoid battering your frame. Changing springs can counter...

It has been easy to fly with a gun, simply call TSA at the airport well ahead of time, find out the current rules, and follow them. They are set up to do exactly this. It is not the airline, it is the TSA that handles this.

Is the plan ~ mould plus the three sets of pins or a choice of pins with the moulds? For me, I'd go with 2 pairs 0.080" Buckbuster pins (or maybe 3 pairs if spares are available) and one pair of 0.100" Buckbuster pins. I can turn the Buckbuster...

Now that is nice! I used to have a Pedersoli 12 ga. muzzleloading shotgun I loved but it was a casualty of my need for college money at the time and never got replaced. They certainly look similar if not identical except yours is nicer finished....

The solid soft lead bullet is undoubtably the best and most satisfactory expanding bullet that has ever been designed. It invariably mushrooms perfectly, and never breaks up. With the metal base that is essential for velocities of 2000 f.s. and upwards to protect the naked base, these metal-based soft lead bullets are splendid.
John Taylor - "African Rifles and Cartridges"

Forget everything you know about loading jacketed bullets. This is a whole new ball game!
