I tried 0.735" RB's on Winchester wads with petals cut off (cushion leg only) with poor results. Same with plastic gas seal, hard card wads then fiber wad under the ball... thinking the fiber wad would form fit. Poor results again. Went to...

Same problem with those Russian slug moulds that more or less copy Gualandi DGS slugs, Dixie Tusker and Paradox slugs but with attached wads. The slugs look great and the moulds are said to be quite good but if a guy can't get the special wads he's...

Yeah, I get that Earl. It is the lights and lasers hung underneath the muzzle that I object to. Trusting your life to any device that is battery-powered is foolish. Rails up top for optics are OK.

I don't have a shotgun with screw in choke tubes so no experience there. Everything I have has fixed chokes. I bought a barrel adaptor and Mossberg choke tubes from Brownells to put onto my single shot slug gun to try my home rifled choke tube...

I ordered a spring set from MCARBO yesterday. I got notification it shipped today! I also ordered an upgrade for my old Lee Challenger press that broke some time ago. Still worked but there was a cast toothed part to hold and set angle for the...

I'm on the fence on this one. I would figure a hard card wad column would keep the slug aligned and more or less guided but... I made some straight ribbed slugs a few years ago when I started my Brenneke clone kick. These were full bore slugs,...

When I walked up to the range yesterday, I shot three more of the Accurate bullets. This time the only difference was that they were in 3" hulls, rather than the 2" hulls, with an additional .25" wad to complete the stack. The results were dismal,...

I don't go through thousands of rounds per year to stay sharp. 100 rounds every 6-8 weeks seems to keep the edges honed properly. I have been using j-word Hornady HAP 180s for practice fodder in the 40, I need to test-drive the Lee 175 TC loads...

Another vote for the Lee TC 120 grain design. These run very well whether 9mm, 40 S&W, 10mm, or 45 ACP. Seat with about .020" of front drive band protruding above the case mouth, set a light taper crimp, and you are in business.

That's what I've been thinking, at least a "shoot off" between star and roll (once I have the ST crimper in hand).

Hear, hear. Tool rails on SIG-Sauer classic pistols are as bad as fiber-optic sight sets on any firearm. Walter Mitty/mall ninja horse warp. I have other far less complimentary things to say about both concepts, but we will leave it at this.

I've used plain wheel weights for everything from hare to bear to buffalo. It's all you need. Just quench them when dropped for a bit extra hardness.

Should not be a problem, especially for light loads. For truly light loads we open up the flash hole anyway in dedicated cases.

I figure that is about a lifetime worth of shooting. My worry about a small business, based on my business, is one day they shut down. If they shoot well downrange, I will probably buy another mold to keep just incase.

I am not a CAS shooter, but I am curious about the light bullet/slow-mover 45 Colt loads--how close do these loads hit to the fixed sights of the SAA revolvers being used in this sport?

The solid soft lead bullet is undoubtably the best and most satisfactory expanding bullet that has ever been designed. It invariably mushrooms perfectly, and never breaks up. With the metal base that is essential for velocities of 2000 f.s. and upwards to protect the naked base, these metal-based soft lead bullets are splendid.
John Taylor - "African Rifles and Cartridges"

Forget everything you know about loading jacketed bullets. This is a whole new ball game!
