Where are you guys getting the Lyman 48 and 17 sights? Seems like they are discontinued? I'd like to get a set for my 1903.

I bought one of the Greek 1903 returns from CMP when they had them. It's a Remington with original barrel in good condition, all R marked parts and correct stock that unfortunately was oil soaked. It is a good shooter however, and that's all I...

I have the Lee C309-170F and it casts at .3095. A .310 sizer barely puts a mark on it. Surprisingly (or not) I also have the Lee C309-150F (new style) and it casts at 311+ with my alloy. I really wish my 170F would cast at .311+. It's one of Lee's...

Ummm....Talk about massive assumptions! Yes use whatever brand you want, but please don't try to convince us that your Lee dies are superior to my Redding or RCBS...It's obvious that you love your Lee dies and that's OK. I have a few sets left, and...

Not only is it available, but the prices are getting back in line. I scored a bunch of 22 Mag at nearly the prices of the "old days". I'll continue shooting my 22 rimfires...love em'.

I shoot those type of loads often, but only in bolt rifles and single shots. They won't cycle an AR. They shoot great in a Contender though.

Hi guys I am sure this question has been asked before but are there any advantages or disadvantages between 3, 4, 5 or 6 groove barrels when shooting cast. My gut says more grooves may improve accuracy but increase fouling, is there any truth in...

Yep. Thirty years ago, we had a lot fewer reloaders and the manufacturers were competing for market share. Fast forward to the recent political climate of the past eight or more years and the (reloading) market has exploded in growth. Now it's about...

I bought a Lee Challenger press back in '88 and loaded thousands of rifle rounds and magnum pistol rounds with it with exactly zero problems. When Lee came out with the heavier steel assemblies for the handle and ram movement, I bought a kit for the...

To me they are rejects, and I throw them in my sprue bucket and remelt them for the next batch. The gas check may make it inconsequential, but I still wouldn't waste a gas check on a boolit that wasn't properly filled out.

S&B rifle brass is suspect at best. The pistol brass I have used is great. The first time reloading it the primer pocket is a little tight. But after that first loading it is some of the brass I always use. I reloaded 50 45acp casings over 30 times...

A3100 powder is the cat's meow in my Rem 700 30-06 with 200 grain paper patched cast boolits. As others have mentioned it's close to IMR 4831 in burn rate. PP is a whole different animal though. With paper patching we typically start with the...

I was able to get the Lee C312-1552R to nearly 2300fps with "decent" (1-1/2"-2" at 100 yds) accuracy in a Rem 700 30-06 1/10 twist. I used Lyman #2 alloy, sized to .311 and lubed with Carnuba Red. Powder was IMR 4064. The best accuracy however was...

I don't have and have never shot a 454 Casull but I did cast up the Lee 300gr (they finished 307gr with a Hornady GC and PC'd) and loaded some of them over 22gr of 4227 in 45 Colt. They ran over the chrono at just over 1200 fps and for me that's bit...

I have a S&W 686 357 that has seen a steady diet of 38 Special wadcutters for years and years. No problems with build up here either. I clean after shooting and use a 40 or 45 Cal brass brush and Hoppes #9 to clean the cylinder. I don't allow it to...

While Bullseye may not be "ideal", it still works pretty darn well accuracy wise for target loads, and so does Red Dot. I use both in 44 Mag with 200 grain full wadcutters and accuracy is outstanding.

The 30-30 would be my pick. It's a lot more flexible than you might think when using cast boolits. Lots and lots of boolit weights to choose from. I use the Lee TL314-90 for small game and plinking, and a plethora of other boolits for other needs....
