If it fits in the hull without bulging shoot 'em! Needs to be full bore for a decent pattern.

Those are locking handles and there has been discussion on them here on another post, I find them awkward, heavy, and unnecessary, and they aren't very old and still being made.

I tested the barrel lugs to see how deeply they engaged. They actually engage deeper than the original barrel does, so everything is fine.

If you seat way out, the drive band may well hit the rifling before the round is fully in battery. Go with the OAL that works for you. As far as the powder charge, reported results vary quite a bit. Some said that more than 6.5 grains was too much....

Mine is an older one but has the laminated stock, 1-12 twist and is great with cast, it's the rifle I use for testing cast in the .308, for boolits that I sell. Not my most accurate .30 but right behind my .30 BR., the 700 has a stock trigger and...

Not a problem. Go ahead and shoot them. The Alox by itself should be enough.

This is the best design for concentric bullet seating, and the most accurate ammo, condom or boolit.

Use Trail Boss and it fills case almost using 12 grains or so, don't muck around with small amounts of fast pistol powder, safety first.

At each stage shake off the excess, trying to coat too much tends to make globs instead of a coating. You can use Panko crumbs for the last stage to make a more "professional" finish. Watch the oil temp too, consistent temp around 325 makes a...

Sadly I have answered my own inquiry. Carl passed suddenly last September. He was a 45 yr old physician, husband and father living in Harker Heights, TX. Poignant reminder that none of us are guaranteed another day. Rest in eternal peace Carl...

So I would need a test spring set in order to properly test this. What they call a recoil calibration set.

Blackhawk, welcome to the insanity! A few comments: I'm not familiar with those sabots and have not seen them come up in discussion. I am familiar with the gun, have one that has seen nothing but reloads myself. I have never seen a home rolled...

Interesting. What is the sequence you go through to find which spring you need? Second shot high, second shot low etc.

The turret I have works faster but it doesn't work better. Your ammunition will be at least as good as mine. Your system will work fine.

I use .218 bee brass and fire it in the Mashburn chamber, don't lose any brass, and of course the .218 Mashburn Bee is an accurate, efficient varmint getter.

Seating and crimping in separate steps is the best way to do it. I use a Lee FCD to do the final crimp so I don't need to keep adjusting the seating die. You could also use a taper crimp die instead as a final crimp die and never need to adjust your...
