SO2 is not the only health hazard. Zinc sulfide is not good either plus the zinc oxides that can form. Zinc fume fever. Hydrogen sulfides can also form, also not healthy.

I converted my mini 14 to straight pull. I liked it that way but found the manual operation was too noisy when hunting - that noise is disguised by the muzzle blast, so I went back to auto cycle. On manual, the cases would drop in a small pile and...

You might try a 32 pistol boolit, sized to fit an unsized neck, with a light charge of Clays or BE or similar. The idea being that the boolit is held concentric to the bore and is virtually in contact with the throat so enters the bore...

Interesting comment on the CCI SV at 100 yds. I found that at 25 yds with CCI sub-sonic. With a suppressor, the velocity difference from shot to shot was very apparent. CCI sub-sonic is supposed to be 10 fps slower than SV but it was too fast to...

Way back when Pontius was still a pilot, I tried BB caps in a revolver. Fouled the chambers to the point LR's wouldn't chamber. They left a ring of deposit around the case mouth.

That should not be difficult to achieve. I'm thinking of doing the same thing. Have you tried googling toaster oven wiring diagrams? I haven't - yet. Ok, I've had a look and there is quite a variety out there.

It's interesting to note what those "high" pressures actually are. Like 10,000 to 11,000 CUP. Normal pressures for the cartridge as you say but lower velocity. I looked at 44 Russian. My concern for Trail Boss for my purposes is the rate of...

The 16 twist hornet will stabilize Hornady 60gr spire points just fine, with a stiff charge of Lil'Gun (around 680 fps). The k-hornet cannot handle Lil'Gun with heavy bullets (above 50gr). An interesting snippet; the standard hornet out performed...

I'm a Lil'Gun fan too. In the 22 hornet. I see that it is great in the 300 BO and a few other cartridges. It's not so great in a 303 Brit. It burns way slower in the hornet than 4227 but in the Brit it burns way faster! In short, I would stay...

It's carbon conducting the spark to ground that is the issue. It's a spark hitting a conductive, flammable (and in this case, explosive) substance that is the concern. The spark wouldn't hit it if it was an insulating material. The real issue is...

Brass is a substitution alloy which means that zinc atoms replace copper atoms so differences in alloying percentages would be proportional to the difference in atomic weight. The difference in atomic weight is small at 3.33% so a change in alloy...
