That's US$ which in NZ$ would be something in the region of $400. For a nice 510? If I had the money to spare, I would pay that, over priced or not. Looking at my 510, complete with wrong rear sight and broken front sight, the stock seems to be a...

Exactly right. I might be able to answer that one - those of us on the fence are looking for reasons to be drawn in and smell the fumes. What's of significance to me in this thread is the presentation of both sides of the fence with...

It would be interesting to see the experiment repeated using a powder positioner like Dacron or a filler like kapok as Argie suggests.

Someone asked in another thread whether one could PC copper condom bullets. To me that is a good question. Reason being that I insist on playing around with obsolete and over throat and bore sized Lee Enfields, some of which are worn/corroded or...

I won the auction for the aperture sight. Next step when it arrives is to make a mounting adaptor. I'm thinking I'll be using the post sight as is until I have made the globe arrangement.

I would imagine there is a great deal of satisfaction in making those pretty, near perfect PC boolits. Sure makes me want to do it. On the other hand, I don't want to get to spend too much effort in getting set up for PC only to find I...

I'm trying to figure out how I might make a nose pour smooth sided boolit mold with a stop ring. I have an idea but it might have trouble with stuff getting between the mating faces. I'm thinking that if those dirt scraper boolits actually...

I still want to try PC. I like trying new things and as Larry says, it's like putting a jacket on the boolit. Is that correct? That's my objective.

Thanks for that, Forrest r. Much appreciated. My gunsmith uncle (WWII armorer) once told me about proper packing of an SMLE barrel. They have cut-outs for the fitting of cork packers. I was thinking about that while looking at my rifles and...

I don't powder coat - yet. I am under the impression that powder coating would work for me in place of paper patching. I need to fatten the boolits I have. Paper patching for range shooting isn't all that appealing but for field use it is. So,...

While Clays, Clay Dot and Red Dot are in the same burn-rate category, Clays has a very fast initial burn rate, faster than Red Dot. Yet the mean burn rate is about the same. So from that one can see that mixing those two powders could cause...

Just a question on top eject - does it not make the action more symmetrical? As in vibration harmonics symmetrical, which might affect accuracy? Anyway, I prefer a side eject, not that I have a lever gun or ever will. I still like them though.
