That can be removed by degreasing then applying bluing salts using fine steel wool. Be sure to remove the bluing salt residue and drying before oiling or it will start rusting! Oiled brass wool works too but doesn't restore the bluing but does...

Yeah, normally I would have just snuck it in - she wouldn't notice there was another one but this time I had to go fetch it on the weekend. I didn't know what to do but in a stroke of genius, I told her she bought it for me for Valentine's day....

That's interesting, Barra. I now need to choose a bullet. There are a few choices to make - 110gr 32 bullets, 308 125gr and 310 123gr. I have a long barreled lightweight gun that would suite mild loads for small game and a heavy gun that would...

I've just bought another Toz. Haven't picked it up yet. Heck - I haven't even tried the previous one I got! I don't know what model this one is but it looks the same.

I'm glad this thread came up because I have had this idea of patching up a 125-ish bullet fo fit the throat of a 303 Brit. I have patched a small cast boolit that shot very well in one with an enlarged throat in spite of the jump. The patched...

I've been very happy with postimage. They make me re-login after long periods (months) of inactivity. Their options for posting images covers all my needs and is easy enough to use.

It's marginally slower than AS30N but a lot bulkier which makes powder position a non issue. More expensive too I think. I did once try a breach seated boolit. I had a case with a damaged neck or something so I cut it back to behind the...

I have a Toz 22 (model 22) with a 14 twist. I've thought about trying the Aguila 60 gr rounds in it. I should get some so I have them to test in it when I do finally a chance to test the gun.

That of course is very good advice. What's important here in my opinion is to have fun testing all the variables. I have a rifle that should not have been able to shoot with anything. The barrel was loose in the action, the bolt was set back...

I do have a mic. My papers range from around 0.05 mm to 0.1 mm. I have 0.05, .068, 0.073, 0.082 and 0.1. Now let me convert those. .002, .0027, .0029, .0032, .0039. It's porous printer paper that compresses down so nicely , making it quite...

I gotta get me some green bar! And thanks for the heads up on three wraps. I'm planning on getting back into loading, casting and paper patching. I now live quite close to a range (two ranges actually). Still busy setting up my new home.

What paper are you using, Overmax? I was using printer paper (the cheap kind) and that had enough give to compress on seating and hold a boolit real tight, meaning I did not need to size after wrapping.

I have a 512. It came to me in pretty shoddy condition. Split and rotton stock, Bolt worn, trigger sear broken and bolt stop broken by the broken trigger sear ... Oh yes, barrel bent to at the end of the fore-end which I only realized some time...

Nice job. I have a 512 Sportmaster. When I got it it was a shocker. I cleaned it up, repaired the rotten stock, repaired the bolt, fitted a scope and proceeded to take all the 22 silhouette prizes with it. Many a rabbit and hare and other varmint...
