It's been done as early as the 60's but the real issue is fouling problems with the larger cases. The 17 Remington is a prime example. The smaller case 17 Hornet and 17 Fireball don't seem share this issue. It also depends on intended usage. Fox...

Between the virus and the social unrest the manufacturers can't keep up. Most distributors are out of anything remotely reassembling a self defense firearm. Since February over 2 million new first time purchasers.

The 17 HMR was first than the 17 Mach 2 than the 17 WSM. I have the 17 Mach 2 and the 17 HMR. I shoot the 17 HMR the most. I am heading out of state tomorrow to shoot prairie dogs. The 17 HMR is awesome for under 175 yards on PD's on a claim...

As stated by some the RB does have AOL issues with longer cartridges. This is strictly from memory and I am not a RB guy but I believe 45-90 is about the limits without having to modify the hammer nose. ...

Back in the mid 70's when I was doing 357 Herrett all I had was a Lyman Universal Trimmer. With normal pressure it took a month of Sundays to cut them to length. I discovered if you really jammed the cutters in each tooth would cut a nice curl and...

Not really. It just means the extractor is long enough to hold the case secure enough to fire. It fairly common for the 10mm crowd to shoot 40 S&W in their guns https://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/40-in-a-10mm-glock/

One that I know of shoots OK. Nothing outstanding, but around 4+" at 100. Some work could improve that. This particular rifle has an unusually nice bore for a Moisan Nagant rifle. Shiloh
