In all honesty I have loaded and shot about all makes and weights of `J` bullets in .416 caliber. I also favored the Hornady 400 gr. SP and DGS solids for their less cost than Barnes. The Barnes type of bullets is indeed unique to the fact of both...

This sweet deal reminded me of the time I bought a sportered Krag. It was a beautiful job done by a compatent `Smith`. When I paid the $150.00 for it the seller also handed me a box that had 11 boxes of factory ammo and fired cases! Robert

I believe it was at least 30 years back that a neighbors kid got one of these and really `chopped sportering` it! Don`t recall him ever bragging on its accuracy with factory ammo.Robert

I`ve got an early model that is scoped for my old eyes. It just feels right with the way they made the walnut stocks fit. I believe I paid $150.00 for my .30-30 about 3 years back. It shoots nicely with a #311041 and a case of IMR-3031.Robert

I used to use Thompson cold bear blue and a few other cold lubes they sold. All needed a bit of heat oon the luber to flow well. Then I discovered Carnuba Red (C.R.) and have not looked back.Robert

IF I did fall victem to getting a firearm in this `NEW` round, it would have to be in either a bolt gun or some variety of a single shot. There is no way on GODS green earth I would get something on the AR/M-16 platform!Robert

I fought for quite a few years with the extractor on my 722 in .300 Sav. It was in 3 different `Smith` shops and had new extractors put on when they located them to do so. The problem was when extracting the fired case the extractor would just...

Excellent form of testing on the Ruger round and solid Hornady. I believe you would be surprised at actually how deep that bullet penatrated. I also did a penatration test with my .416 Taylor and using a Barnes solid 400 gr. bullet on a 25`long...

For those wondering about push button rifling, Bob Hart thought it worked fine and Hart barrels have a very good reputation for accuracy.
