beltfed, I was probably there that day. Do you still have the '03? I never held on to anything. Late at night I cry myself to sleep just thinking about the 1911 Colts, Simson Lugers, M1 Carbines, '03s Winchester '92s & 73 Winchesters I let get away....

We had a range master who was a retired police captain. He told me when the collection of holsters in his dept got too large because of the change over from revolvers to semi-auto, he took the large box down to the Tiajuna, Mexico Police Dept and...

The only shot I ever tried to melt was from unfired shotgun shells. It wouldn't melt. It just floated on top of the lead that was already in the pot. I think it was do to the graphite coating on the shot. In any case I quit trying to melt the stuff....

GOPHER SLAYER replied to a thread Large egg pod? in Our Town
That egg sack was about 2/3 the size of a golf ball. My wife sprayed it with bug killer which caused it to shrink. I applied a propane torch which turned it black. We have enough spiders. There was a TV special about spiders a few years ago on TV...

When I retired I wanted to get into the BPCR game. I called Shiloh and asked bout ordering a rifle. They told me it would be at least 16 months and to guarantee the currant price I would have to pay in advance. No way Jose. I went to Turner's Gun...

GOPHER SLAYER started a thread Large egg pod? in Our Town
I took this picture on our patio. It looks like a very large insect egg pod but I don't have any idea what kind of bug would produce it. My wife sprayed it with insect killer and turned into something like scrambled eggs. Any ideas on what it might...

I had two MEC reloaders, both 12 gauge. One missing one of the shot or powder jugs, I don't remember which. Otherwise both were good to go. I thought I was going to have to give them away. I finally sold both for $10 or $15. I don't remember that...

Inflation is nothing new. I have a copy of Frank Mayer's book, The Buffalo Runners. When he decided to go west and hunt the big shaggies in the mid 1870s he paid $225 for his Sharps rifle and reloading gear. He said he later bought another Sharps in...

On a flint lock rifle the pan holding the priming powder is covered by the frizzen. This would prevent the powder from falling from the pan. Most rifles were hung upside down for the simple reason, it is easier.
