Thank you gentleman. I don't remember any holster giving me as much trouble as this one. I think the fact that I had not made one in many years had more to do with my trouble than anything. I have a large selection of patterns that I made years ago...

I had enough leather left to make one more holster so I decided to make one for my Ruger Blackhawk in .357. While I think the holster turned out OK I doubt if I ever wear it because of the weight of the pistol. That thing is a tank. I just weighed...

I enjoyed that very much and as has been said, it brought back lots of memories. I shot muzzle loaders in competition for thirty years but never with flint lock. I still have a .45 caliber that is a great shooter. The last time I shot it I fired a...

As I have stated on this site before, immigrants from California did not create the septic tank that is the west coast of WA, OR, city of Denver or any problem AZ may have. They all created their own. Many people retired from the phone company at...

Thanks Drydock, I will try that. DH, I am sure that many of us have turned into a Bubba sometime in our past, if we were honest. I know I have and it was one job I still regret.

Did you get the tail stock with the lathe? The Sheldon was often called the gunsmith lathe.

I feel I must put an end to all this prattle. Did you ever shoot a hot loaded 32-20? Your ears will not like it and you don't want to some day have to wear a hearing device. I don't and I hear very well and I have been shooting all my life and I...

Well I was able to remove the lock with little difficulty and I was very impressed with the fit of wood to metal on this rifle. It looks like the tree grew up around the gun. It is also easy to see why the trigger pull is so heavy when you look at...

Thank you Drydock, from a former Missourian, Sikeston to be specific. I will try taking it apart later today.

I have only one question. Why didn't you make it a 218 Bee. The brass lasts much longer and it is a much better cartridge as everyone knows. I took a survey and the Bee won hands down. Some might say that my survey was flawed since I only survived...

KCSO, I have been cautioned about taking the gun apart if you have never owned one so I am afraid to take it about.

I too love my old Lee hand primer. I have one for large and one for small primers. The lid on my original broke and I can't get a replacement. I tried one that they make for a current primer but the plastic lugs don't match so I just switch the lid...

No, Bubba did not touch any of the metal on the gun, just the stock. Buckshot says I should cut the barrel off and make it a carbine.

Thank you Mike. From the beginning I never had to worry about lead since I worked for the phone company and there was always tons of lead in the scrap cable bin. I have been retired for over 23 years and I still have more lead than I will ever use....

Well I suppose I may as well jump in. I will be 83 in four days. I started casting at the ripe old age of 25, first for round ball when a neighbor took me shooting using muzzle loaders. This neighbor also introduced me to casting. I remember the day...
