Now THERE is a theory. That never occurred to me. I typically use Winchester primers but may buy 100 Rem or Fed SR primers and test it out.

I was gifted a pristine Savage Sporter 23B in 25-20. It was manufactured in 1924 according to the factory letter. I also received a box of 25-20 reloaded 75gr lead gas check w/ 9gr 4227 (per the loader's specs). They are from the Old Western...

I would be interested in the brass and the mould if they don't go with the rifle. Please PM me when/if they become available.

Oh I can assure you I shoot subsonic 22's through the cans. I only have three of them for 22's. :) Liberally coated baffles with Frog lube keeps lead buildup down and cleaning after about 250 rounds helps too. I was talking about pistol calibers...

You are correct. 23B, not 24. Hit the wrong key more than once. Pristine gun. I hate to mess it up. The side mount seems to be a good option but I hate to drill and tap it. I actually got a factory letter stating 1924 manufacture.

I was gifted a pristine 1924 manufactured (factory letter confirmed it) Savage Sporter in 25-20. My eyes are not all that great and I would like to scope it. I am thinking like bold handle needs to be bent, etc. Has anyone scoped a Sporter 24...

I use jacketed in full auto 223, 308 and any subsonic rounds through a suppressor. You do NOT want to shoot lead through a can. No way. No how. So, they both have their place.

I'd be happy to except the cat knocked my digital camera off the sideboard and snapped the lens right off the body. It is off for repair. If it is THAT important, I can borrow someone's digital camera and do my best.

Both. It is actually considered a target gun (9 shot with adjustable sights) and by all accounts (I have not fired this one nor would I) they are very accurate. I'd love to shoot it with 22 shorts but I'll leave that to someone else.

One of the reasons I like the 123 and 124 chassis cars is there are few electronics on them. As for the wiring, if it weren't for the mouse nest and the chewed wiring it would be fine. Just went though the wiring thing but it was due to the mice,...
