If lead is getting in the water from the range, has the state or fed done anything to eliminate the source of the lead contamination? If they ain't doing anything, then it sounds like some BS.

Maybe the diminishing number of folks in the area made it hard to justify the upkeep by the state/fed. I bet most farmers in the area have a place to shoot on their property.

Don't try to do more than rehab tells you to do. I've seen too many folks say they felt fine and did too much, too soon and have to go back and have the surgery done again. Do what the doctor and physical therapist say and nothing more, the first...

Stain glass came is usually a high amount of lead since it's fairly soft and conforms/cushions the glass. Lead's melt temp is 629degF or there abouts. It's soldered together with a high tin solder since it's melts at a much lower temp then lead....

I don't know if this helps with folk's bonding issues. I usually lube the top of the blocks and sprue plate with 2 cycle lube. If I do that in the middle of a casting session coating bond is an issue. Now at the end of a casting session I'll lube...

Only buy the stuff that has a touchmark that's pressed into the surface that says "PEWTER" to start. After you've played with it a while you'll be able to spot it across the room on a table full of stuff.

Depth doesn't include the flare. The part that's .356 is .210 long and the rounded portion at the tip is .040 long for a total of .250 from the end to where the flare starts. I hope that makes sense. I found the taper inside the case varies and...

Chris made me one for 9mm. Expander measures .3560 x .250. I size my Hi-Tek coated bullets to .3578 or .3585. Pulled bullets measure .3575. Alloy is COWW + 2% pewter/tin. I usually wait 2 weeks before I load after cast, coat and size.

I'd look at VCI paper and/or VCI poly bags. Worked on the ship and S&W pistols/handguns used to be wrapped in it while in it's cardboard box sitting in a store room. Some friends went to clean the wife's family homeplace when her father died. They...

A hot plate will get you to good bullets quicker. If your concerned about maintaining heat as you cast, pour a bigger sprue to help with keeping mold blocks to temp along with a faster casting pace. I pour 115's in a 10 cavity iron and a 6 cavity...

Most of the time copper is added instead of antimony to harden the pewter alloy. You'll hit a max saturation level with the copper and if you need it harder antimony is the next choice but costs more and is harder to get into solution then copper. ...

I've got a jld612 (1 of 3 PID's I use) that does a temp nose dive after it comes off auto tune. I wasn't happy with the overshoot and under after auto tune. Tried setting PID parameters by hand and said heck with it. Use it as a simple thermostat....

Old school foundry type would run to 3%. Yours appears to be more user friendly. Your alloy would be great for alloying some high velocity rifle ammo.
