Back in the day it was claimed to be the best and I believe that claim, however, synthetic oils of today are far superior .

When I render, I use very low heat. Strain thru two layers of paper towel. Never had a problem with any going rancid. Mostly do beef, pork and chicken. Did some bear a couple of years ago for a friend and had no problems. Use some for BP lube and...

When I first started shooting NRA Highpower Service Rifle Competition with M1's and M-14's I only used GI ammo or loads with CCI #41 primers. After watching the military teams shoot 100,000's of Federal Gold Medal match I became much less...

Sorry for such a late reply as I just saw this revived thread. No, I don't know the pressure but the load is within specs per Alliant for a 220 grain bullet. Cases do not show any pressure indication and do not stretch when fired in the 95 Win.

I've done maybe 200 or 250 trigger jobs on M1's or M-14's. Everyone one that has doubling issues was corrected by process laid out in post two. I have only shot a limited number of Federal primers in an M1. I have fired a large number of...

Doubling is common with both the M1 and M-14 triggers that have been stoned a little to much or heavily worn. The fix is simple and only requires a small piece of sand paper. The cause is your finger bump firing the trigger. ...

Dan Cash replied to a thread Rebarrel K98? in Military Rifles
I don't mind being odd opinion out. Since the bore is in "perfect" shape, leave it alone. Restock the gun for appearance, bend or replace the bolt handle and drill it for scope. By that time, you will have spent the price of a pretty good new...

Take a black magic marker and color the case than insert into the chamber and rotate the case. You will be able to see were the contact is. Once you do that you can figure out why.

Springfield M-1903 Style T, Heavy Barrel target rifle, .30-’06. The Style T ’03 rifle is quite rare, only 100 were ever made by Springfield Armory in 1929-32.

One of my earliest pistols was a Llama .389. The nickle was coming off and the bore was well pitted; older than dirt and I had it in the early 60s. This one was very small and fit in my shirt pocket but was a true copy of a 1911. I shot the snot...

I like both the heart and liver but I would not grind liver and add to hamburger. Hearts no issue but the taste and color of liver is not a good mix with hamburger in my opinion. Liver is reserved to liver and onions at my house.

I have never used the RCBS PP swager so I don't know if this is even possible to create issues with 30 cal cases. With the Dillon 600 Super Swager on 223 cases the inside support is small enough that if you over swage the pocket you can collapse...

I started casting in 1968 with Lyman 4 cavity for 45 Colt and 45/70. My most used molds are H&G 10, 8 or 6 cavity with a close second to my brass 4 cavity. The older Lyman's that I own cast on size or larger. The newer ones are on size or under. ...
