Thats why I changed from the 308 to a 300 Wby mag as my elk rifle about 10 years ago. The 308 served its purpose (1969 to 1985) till I could afford something else. I don't own an 06 never figured 250 fps made that much difference at the distances I...

My 308 has never had an elk escape from it, 4 at last count and using 110gr hp it kills coyotes too. 7mm-08 is a necked down 308, it'll get it done too. Neither are a bad choice in my mind.

I don't empty mine to make an adjustment on my BB. I take the plastic drop tube out, put the cap on the hopper and adjust away. I have almost quit using the RCBS rotors.

I learned that tumbling commercial hard cast bullets with BLL makes them more palatable in my pistols and that Smokes PC powder works great. Also it does not take much time to reach the NOE $1000 club.

The rod with the wood handle keeps your fingers way for a hot mould. It allows you to cast faster and can be held in place and won't slide out when you turn the mould up for filling.
